You get what you get, and they are grandma looking cars. I’m embarrassed to be seen in mine. Keep your personal car, so you will enjoy driving it.they had Volvos and took them away. Suburu and Toyota now.
So they are assigning fleet vehicles to us next year!?!?!?!?!? We don’t even get to order a brand new car? We’re gonna get somebody else’s crusty seconds?
I don’t understand why they are waiting until the second half of 2024? Let those of us who want to order company cars do it right away in January. It’s going to take some time to get them.
I ordered mine last sept. I still don’t have it, as they are all on a 6 month delay. Hopefully I’ll get it before sept. If not, I’ll have to start over and order another one.
The cars have trackers. They measure how hard you brake, accelerate, as well as g force in turns and rate of speed. If you go over limits you’ll get assigned points. Mine was pretty easy to remove. When I was at Amgen, I would take it out until I got the email from fleet. Then I’d plug it in for a couple of days and take it out again. It was fun to mess with them. They absolutely can track location, but they can on your devices also. They won’t, however, unless you give them strong reasons to. Singling out anyone for that is begging litigation. Above all, Amgen is scared of being sued. They will go to great lengths to avoid doing anything that will spark an HR lawsuit.
They can absolutely look at your location through the geo tracker, any time they want. Yes it is very easy to remove, and you will get told to put it back in. However they can and will look up your location any time they feel like it.
