Totally agree. The hard truth is that loyalty and hard work just aren’t valued like they used to be. Companies will cut dedicated employees the moment it serves the bottom line—whether that means offshoring jobs or replacing people with cheaper alternatives. Quality, experience, and effectiveness have taken a backseat to cost-cutting and box-checking.I would just like to see more transparency from leadership on budget and job cuts, all very stealthy now. Is that too much to ask?
I think it’s intentional, they are trying to make life as difficult as possible to push higher turnover, avoid as many separation packages as possible.Totally agree. What’s worse is how management is treating people in the process—disrespectfully, even cruelly. It feels intentional, like they’re trying to push people out to justify future layoffs. I have heard some awful stories about some of the hardest working, most respectable employees- it’s definitely impacting their mental health. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine how some of these executives / managers sleep at night. How are they justifying their behavior?
Above poster is 100% correct.I

Is anyone safe within HH? Rumors about CTLs trying to push people out the door.More budget reduction targets coming from ET, it’s only going to get worse…when will sr. leaders start discussing the real situation during their town halls, instead of paining this rosy picture of how incredible our pipeline in, we just need to deliver it…start talking about the budget reductions, share how the savings are being realized, how long this will last…
That is if we can even make a dash for these wonderful pipeline. Maybe for once we will start being realistic about outlook. Merck assumes best case and seldom plan for worst case. Was it realistic to expect all untapped markets to embrace a vaccine that could go against certain cultural expectations and religious principals?
The leaders faces covered in mustard and catsup- please release us allAre you talking about the MMR vaccine being a cultural issue? It's been successful for decades until whack jobs Trump and RFKJR began their "All meds are poison" BS. RFK's children had MMR vaccines! Trump had the monoclonal antibody for COVID. They're both phonies. These sociopaths want to destroy the USA and don't give a dang about anyone but themselves. Did you hear that Trump invented the word, equalize? Yes, he claimed that several days ago. And RFK took his grandchildren for a swim in the water at Rock Creek Park in DC. It's polluted! But you go ahead a spew their garbage.
MRK has taken its success for granted for years--valuing profits over research. MRK has only one major product, Keytruda. Years ago, there were so many groundbreaking drugs, that it took three sales forces to promote them. Not now--and no one is to blame but MRK upper managment.
I thought they were referring to Gardasil in China, but maybe not. That said, completely agree that Trump and RFK are total wackjobs that are screwing this country, and that this situation of limited pipeline and MRK stock in the trash falls squarely on MRK upper management, who keep collecting big paychecks and stock while laying off loyal, hardworking employees. Maybe they should be forced to take a paycut BEFORE lay offs are pushed forward? (hahaha- as if that would ever happen)Are you talking about the MMR vaccine being a cultural issue? That’s the rub, they continue to cut people and add more work…speed is the word of the day in advancing the pipeline…the outcome is predictableThat is if we can even make a dash for these wonderful pipeline. Word is too much coming too little resource.

Still better to have a pipeline than not; what's the thought on pipeline ability to differentiate from competition? That’s the rub, they continue to cut people and add more work…speed is the word of the day in advancing the pipeline…the outcome is predictable
That is what happened during a previous restructure and some great talent was separated. One difference this time is that the 1st line managers (CTLs) are actively pressuring the field-based reps.Honestly, from what I’ve seen I think they are purposefully targeting employees who have been there since original Merck days, that have more extensive benefits and time off. And likely higher salaries. Unlike prior years, they aren’t looking to retain high performers. They’re looking at $$$ only.
Mid level management more at risk.
At this point I don’t even know if it’s better to be laid off and get the benefits, or wait and suffer through the added work and chaos, just to potentially be part of a future round where less might be available.
