Not letting go, not compromising, not ignoring it, just makes you and the party look bad. Like you can't handle shit. I mean, if one old man can set you off with words, how would you or the party fare in WW3? IMO, that is a path to political irrelevance (BTW, AOC and Bernie draw crowds of progressives, but they aren't gonna draw voters).

Your 'epiphany' would hold water if it was just him blustering but the problem is, if the bluster doesn't w ork, he turns it into truth.
Consider his attacks on the First Amendment as he tries to set himself up for the one who 'decides' what is truth for the rest of us.
  • Trump defends saying 2020 election was stolen using first amendment. His attorney, John Lauro, states that Trump actually believed it was stolen therefore he was able to state it with first rights protection.
  • Trump’s Executive Order 14149 gives a person absolute Freedom of Speech, which is already, supposedly, a freedom guaranteed by our Constitution.
  • Trump rails against 60 Minutes segment showing interview with Kamela Harris before election. Again, he is entitled to his opinion.
  • When being a cranky old man turns into something else – a lawsuit.
At the time CBS News released the full transcript of its conversation with the Democratic presidential nominee, the network said it “is always guided by the truth and what we believe will be most informative to the viewing public, all while working within the constraints of broadcast television.”

The president’s latest criticism of the network, just one of his media targets, comes as his attorneys enter reported settlement talks with Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News and a conglomerate that is currently working to secure a megamerger with entertainment

“These antics are why the American People have no trust in the Press,” Trump wrote, “… and demand that the Media, very much including 60 Minutes, CBS, and its owners, be held responsible for their corruption and lies, which is exactly what we are doing in Court!”\

I agree with you, in part, and disagree, in part. Yes, Trump is as mafia as a Kennedy. And yes he is vindictive. But all the examples and evidence you provide above still amounts to outlandish comments, what he says.

My point is, that doesn't mean lawless sanctuary cities, a borderless nation exploited by aliens, blank checks to Europe, and a soft approach to jihadists and trade with China are worth not having Trump's big mouth in office, in the alternative...

Did you see what the peaceful "free" palestine people just did to the University of Washington? Have you attended a recent corporate LGBTQIA+ and DEI indoctrination program? Regarding the 'refusal to hold China accountable' for COVID?

The goal for real liberals, independents, classical civil libertarians, and moderate Democrats is to get more votes and more representation whether through Congress or the White House, next time. That means persuading people on policy, convincing donors to contribute. Digital mouth fart vitriol without persuasive policy is counterproductive and a ticket to political irrelevance.

There should be no fake AI pictures of the President as the Pope coming from the official White House page. A pope just died, and while I am an atheist and have no dog in this hunt, the picture was poorly timed and inappropriate for an elected leader whose population include Catholics...it is just boorish behavior and wrong. He has cheapened the image of a United States president, IMHO. Selling Trading cards dressed up as Superman? Bibles with the Lee Greenwood song about loving the USA printed in China?
