Those of you that want to control their own future after watching this and want to get out of this shit hole: You can become independent!!
Amazon is providing opportunities for self employment by becoming a DSP, (Delivery Service Provider) where you have your own fleet of vans and drivers. Capital requirements are under $25,000. Amazon is adding over 170 new stations nationwide, each with about 8 DSPs. Earnings exceed what drug reps make! No more ridealongs, bullshit teleconferences, faking calls, PIPs, dealing with asshole DMs, etc.

Good business acumen is necessary. But you are in control of your own destiny. Put some thought into your application.

You have one, and only one, chance! Encourage women to apply as well!

I have applied while milking Otsuka to the maximum extent possible.
 


Sounds good but pharma reps are way, way, way to lazy to run their own business which will likely require actually working a full day! The reason we stay in pharma is over-the-top pay for working just a few hours a day. Yes, we all hate filed days with management, useless meetings/conference calls, spreadsheets that we do that capture data provided by the company, just to mention a few things. No, I will take their money as long as possible and ride this old nag until she collapses!

Field days are the absolute worst! Nothing is gained from a field day…except a clean car. After spending a day with a “know it all” with “low self awareness” it takes a couple of days to recover.

After the field ride, I have to go in the next day and apologize for the Managers behavior. The field ride is an archaic approach to improving sales.

Absolutely correct! I couldn’t work a whole 8 hour day if my life depended on it! This job has destroyed and work ethic I might have had. No, I will stay here, take the checks and BS just to be able to enjoy my time off.

The one thing this company has hung its hat on has been culture. They just decimated that. Getting rid of people who have worked their way up and making them fight for bullshit jobs is crazy. What do we in the field have to work towards? They obviously do not value loyalty, hard work and success. All of these people will go to BMS and Alkermes and we will continue to be just like Lundbeck and have zero respectable people in this organization. They think this was just helping the bottom line but this decision is a culture shift that they will never recover from.

I am personally unmotivated here. I feel I don’t belong anymore, but there is nowhere better to go, the competitors drugs suck. True golden handcuffs
 


There are plenty of gripes at BMS and Alkermes. That will not help you. You just exchange faces for the same or different bullshit.
You need to get out of the industry ENABLING YOU TO APPLY YOURSELF AND not be treated like a two year old as you will at every Pharma company! Otsuka talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. Everybody knows it but plays along selling his or her soul for the almighty paycheck. In the process you die internally, become unmotivated and depressed because you have NO control over your business or your future. Someone at the home office can simply increase your budget with a few key board punches and you have sleepless nights! That's how they will get you out. Seen it too many times.

Anyone who forced themselves to sit through those town halls this week - kudos to you. I've been in the workforce for a lot of years and have never seen someone so utterly tone deaf in that time. LA gleefully telling everyone how excited they are for this new model as he's showing the cuts is deplorable. And the icing message: but we want you to apply for these breadcrumbs and be submissive. This WILL happen again within the next year.

If you're thinking of applying here - the culture they've always pushed is 100% gone. They've become desperate and it's become Another Brick in the Wall march.

You are welcome. Staying here without a plan and alternative source to create an income is just killing your spirit and soul. These morons at the home office COULD NOT DO WHAT THEY ASK YOU TO DO! Think about that for a moment. But they have power over you??? Sick!!!!
