It’s that time of the year again. GM and the board needs to cut waste (ummm headcount) to hit their year end KPI and get paid their $M bonuses.

Sorry if you were affected. Stay positive and keep your head up. Plenty of better positions out there!
 




Seriously? Every company goes through layoffs every year for past 9 years. Does every company have travel and hiring freezes every other quarter, for past 8 years? Does every other company layoff only white males and care only about DEI discriminatory practices? The answer is a resounding NO. The issue is with Sr Leadership. Geoff and Brett are losers who have no business running companies of this size. Way out of their league. Oh wait, let me guess, Hugo and Juno are just around the corner and will fix everything.
 


I left during a layoff a few years ago, accepted a severance package, and never looked back. The day I walked out of Medtronic for the last time was the best day of my life

100% - anyone who thinks that this is the reality at every organization is delusional. Medtronic is a complete fuckhole. Like most, the day I left was a celebratory occasion.

Couldn’t agree more. Leaving Medtronic has brought me more joy than I could ever imagine. I hated every single aspect of that shitty company. Nothing ever got done unless it was about pronouns or DEI.
