Cristina Santoro in compliance

Cristina is a problem for Gilead because she is constantly rude and talks down to colleagues. Gileads core values mean nothing to her and she spends more time talking about how great Novartis is and how it is better and more sophisticated than Gilead even though she was pushed out there. She talks bad about Gilead leadership especially legal and Hae won and it is like she is jealous and wants compliance to always see legal is the enemy. She does not really collaborate but is good at trying to make herself like a problem solver but she creates the issues and then wants to be celebrated fixing the problems she created. Cristina is been here for 1 year at Gilead and the company is not perfect but in only a few months she pushed out a great compliance leader and makes her team look miserable. Nothing stops her from doing it to other people when she behaves like this. People complain to each other but no one is speaking up to actually report because they are afraid she is protected. Cristina is sneaky and does not respect other teams and tries to micromanage alil compliance and legal teams even though we have separate leadership but will get angry if she does not get her way. She is always angry and passive aggressive even in group meetings and it is mentally draining to work with someone who likes fighting. If you do not agree with her like it happened to our team she will speak bad about you and undermine you with leaders. I am a victim of this but there are many who have suffered and will speak if you let them. The only people she “likes” are the commercial leaders at the company for the advantage it gives her but to peers and subordinates she is rude and demoralizing. How can Gilead hire someone like this to be the head of compliance during an important time for the company. Someone who bullies everyone to be silent is not good for our future when we just settled a government lawsuit and eyes are on us. This is not the Gilead I joined and I should not be posting public but the hotline investigation is a broken system. but I still hope people speak up and report what Cristina has done to them because we do not need someone like this at Gilead.

OMG!! I totally remember her!! She was head of product strategy at Novartis. She got a lot of sales fired and was their chief policy maker. I remember her being by the book but she was not pleasant hahah. She’s the one they bring in when it’s time to thin the sales herd. Had no idea Gilead brought her on and I hope we don’t cross paths and I keep my job hahah.

Have you not noticed??? Gilead is chock-full of arrogant, narcissistic, entitled people especially the farther they move up. The saving grace at Gilead is our products are always the best. It's not about the talent here because there isn't much. They just feel they can act however they want.

If Gilead's products are always the best, why does it need to bribe prescribers?

bend the knee and it will get better :D

It is true news travels fast. Worked with her on the global side while i am based in EU. Not surprised to hear experiences but only surprised it was this fast because under a year ago it was unclear what would happen after noticeable exits of leaders who were close to her. There was alot of confusion and anger at how she handled things. She eventually left but didnt leave a calling card. Gilead will gain leader with great mixed experience but on the other alternative can also be a killer of good culture with long history to apply fatigue mentale to her teams. Shows true colours in how she approaches dissidente opinion and team members under her authority. Ironic that ex protector K. Moosmayer was also separated from the company few weeks ago. I noticed other ex leaders went to gilead. Maybe KM he will land at gilead too.

I don't know why I didnt think to speak out or make an internal complaint but I agree with your post so thanks for your courage. Her behavior is not sustainable really and it IS mentally draining. I normally dont bring my work home but my spouse knows all about her. Working with her has been a horrible professional experience and by far the worst I felt at Gilead. I hope something can be done, maybe they get her coaching or counseling on how to manage???

you can file a complaint anonymously. what i have read about her sounds like she was purposely brought in and would not put it past leadership but file a complaint and let them investigate

She's a monster, yeah. But the other evil in that department?? The silence is the real horror. Everyone's too damn scared to open their mouths. and the new boss is too blind to see the rot that scumbag brings!

I didn't hear of her before this post so can't speak to how true all this is but she joined a sales call with legal last week. She rudely hijacked the legal presentation with Jm and the l&i lawyer. Some leaders love the sound of there own voice but she obviously needs training on conduct in group meetings.
