BMS Sales

If a drug works, and is safe, and is priced correctly do you actually think pharma companies need sales reps? Or are they just a MASSIVE waste of money. I think there should be a law against ads for medications on TV and media and the job of pharma sales reps should be banned. Doctors get continuing ed, they partake in clinical trials, they read the literature. Tell me why we waste so much money on sales and marketing??? it just raises the cost of drugs

This is laughable. Do you think doctors know everything about every medication? No. Do they know which patients to put on which products? No. Patient services, indications/contraindications, MOA, PBM access, etc etc etc the list goes on and on. If it weren’t for representative efforts, your sorry ass would be given antiquated 50 year old medications with massive side effects every time you needed a prescription for something. But please, continue thinking that our salaries are the reason for the costs of medication. Imbecile.

you need a few reps but wayyyyyy less than we have today. They are the single biggest line item with questionable value add. More digital engagement with fewer reps would be the right balance. Most reps dont bring value, especially the BMS ones

100% agree...on top of that the evolution of technology with the emergence of gen ai capabilities means less need for reps as information should in theory be more accessible...I guess this is what you mean by digital engagement.

This is completely ridiculous. We saw what happened to Orencia when we lost our sales force. We couldn’t hire them back fast enough. I think the biggest idiots in the industry work here and you are one of them.

I believe they tried the whole digital and virtual engagement rodeo during Covid. It didn’t work. When we went back live, rep salaries exploded. Thinking reps can. Be replaced by AI or digital detailing is a fantasy.

lol coming from a pharma drug rep, the bottom of the barrel profession with your fake "DeVry MBA's". Give me a break, you will be replaced.

Yeh. Because physicians make Rx decisions based on the 20 second "presentations" of the armies of reps who majored in marketing, sports management, or Poli Sci. As a 9-year vet, its clear to me that we are here only to provide massive deductions for the company.
Nothing else makes sense.

Yeah, I suck at the job too.

you will be cut next because you are obviously in non money generating role. we see you, you keep talking, we can tell who this is.

If I was an HCP, I would literally never make a treatment decision based on what a drug rep tells me, thats like a slap to my brain and knowledge of medicine, I would like the staff meals though!

As a HCP, I know how important new treatments and innovation are to give hope. I hope when you or a family member gets sick, there is something to give you. But with you writing messages like that, I think there will most likely not be.You will learn the hard way.

With a new medication coming out for patients every 8 days; do you really think docs have time to stay up to date on everything? They cram 10 patients an hour. Its laughable to think they will read up on new medications in their spare time.
