It’s sad that cowardly racist managers at Merck come on her a spew bigotry but they won’t say how they truly feel to that persons face. Also she didn’t get anyone fired they got themselves fired. This is what people who support DEI want others to believe it’s about, but in practice its discrimination and forces hiring/promotion decisions not based on merit. How about we just treat everyone equally and make decisions based on performance, merit?

Per Merck policy, posting on LinkedIn is a fireable offense. If she doesn't get fired there are some serious double standards.

If they terminate her based on her showing bigotry and hatred that minorities face at work on her LinkedIn page, I would love to see the reactions from our customers and the world on the treatment of minorities. My question is what bothers you the most, the fact that she posted on LinkedIn or the fact that disgruntled employees come on here and talk trash about their colleagues instead of being grown adults and she posted it validating what many have and are experiencing?

Do you honestly believe having all non minorities as CTL’s and DCO’s is merit based? So no people of color have been qualified for does positions whatsoever right? Majority of the pharmaceutical industry is dominated by non ethnic people and you think all of them got their by merit?

It is a valid question. Why did she not express that made her uncomfortable? He was congratulating her on a one-year anniversary and explained the bitmoji on the teleconference, indicating the challenges he had trying to make it. It is important to remember that less than 0.6% of the US population identifies as transgender, which means that there is a high likelihood of unintentionally offending someone. He was new to virology, and she had the opportunity to help him understand why it was wrong in her perspective. As a transgender person and a self-proclaimed activist, educating and constructive conversations can lead to positive changes in behavior. However, yelling “racist” at every opportunity only creates a barrier and hinders progress.

Come on, take a look at IT in both MRL, MMD…vast majority are non-white ethnic groups…different people go into different fields, some attract more minorities that other…stop making everything about race

If you under the statistic’s then why was the responsibility placed on her to educate him on all things trans? Do you educate people on all things Caucasian’s do and say that often comes off tone deaf and dismissive? Also how do you know she reported the bitmoji as racist which it apparently was and still is. I’m taking by your own omissions of being on the teleconference that he explained his intentions behind it but what others saw who wasn’t on your teleconference was those bitmoji did not resemble her in anyway and the one with the black face and middle finger sticking up, in what world was that acceptable? Others who saw it took offense as well but since you have the ability to only see things conceptually through the eyes of a dominant class and have never experienced the complexities and nuances that others who don’t have your position to power and privilege I totally get this response. It was Merck who ultimately decided to let him go not her and the higher ups who elevated the bitmoji all the way up understood the seriousness of that bitmoji that if it ever makes it to the public, which she never posted to the public there would be serious consequences as this country is at a boiling point with racism.

If you honestly don’t believe that there are barriers that have kept non ethnic people out of this industry, then there’s no need to further a dialogue. Even in all of those fields you mentioned there are still more Caucasian people than does of African descent and unfortunately in the society we live in yes everything ultimately comes back to race but since you don’t understand that because of your proximity to white privilege you don’t understand what it’s like for others who don’t have that and I’ll digress?

Here’s a valid question, you mentioned the teleconference that you all were on, did you check in on her to see if she was ok or because he whitesplained it you felt it was sufficient? Sounds like as her District colleagues you all failed her as well.

He explain the finger as he was trying to show the 1 as one year anniversary and he also mentioned how you have to be cautious with prompts in AI. The most interesting part is she didn't report it right away....until she had so many dashboard violations she received a letter. Let me type slow and whitesplan what that means...she wasn't doing her job.
