Prep is much more important now but Treatment is still at least 2nd. What is HVC? Do you mean HCV?? You're funny.

Treatment is still a financial driver but future is limited as new HIV cases in US drop every year. Still alot but alot less each year.
#2 for overall importance but also Agree down the list for future impact.
If Gilead buys that NASH drug then Liver like Prep will be Golden for the next 12-15yrs.
Kite is last & if Onc doesn't get melanoma approved then it is dead last worse division.

I applaud your enthusiasm but don’t get high on your own supply. We still have to wait & see if HCPs embrace Lenacapivar.

What we learned from Covid is, price matters. Although Remdesivir was & still is the clinically superior drug, HCPs didn’t care because it cost too much. As a result HCPs looked for ways to save on cost by using other less effective (per clinical trail) drugs.

Lenacapivar will either be:
1. The hit you’re predicting it to be or Lenacapivar’s price will be an opportunity for Apertude to reposition itself as the more affordable option.

2. Or Lenacapivar’s high price tag may indirectly prompt HCPs to write more Descovy scripts as an alternative to Lenacapivar; just like Hospitals prescribed Paxlovid as cost saving alternative to Remdesivir.

There were ways to stave off the Paxlovid use but the person placed in charge of pricing and strategy didn't know what the was doing. She was promoted by the way which isn't a shock. That's how Gilead rolls. Gilead would've sacrificed very little and the return would have paid off in spades but they were too too short sighted. Gilead politics are the worst in the industry and revenue suffers.

Lenacapivar will not be a typical HCP driven drug. It will 100% be Gileads 1st patient demand driven drug, like Cialis & Viagra were when launched-- HCPs didn't get behind those but patient demand & request drove it. Think Viagra & Botox DTC demand.

Keep telling the truth. This is the Gilead way. Put incompetent people in important positions, they mess up and people who actually know what to do suffer during reorganizations. The entire c suite needs to be cut.

As in the same patient driven demand for Apretude?

Well after talking to my Prep counterparts this week, the way the L4P Launch Meeting went and the EDs the past few months, you all better get some leadership with better decision making if you are going to step up to Big Brother!
From what I heard the last 4 months with leadership decisions, it is not a surprise the Prep reps say the launch last week was a failure & didn't live up to normal launch meetings .
In 6 months you might find more dysfunction than now and want to come over to the real Big Brother Treatment!

Well PrEP hid quietly off the radar & out of sight since inception probably being viewed as the least important division in Gilead. Literally our little 60 rep primary care division that has canned presentations.
Now the big stage lights are on the understudy of the understudy . So far created more questions than before when they were in the Gilead attic closet.
Personally I don't think they have the senior leadership to be anything more than our lower tier division.
I hope that changes as we all need L4P to expload or we all will be looking for a job.

Get over yourself.

Sell something first. Catch Bik (and every drug that came before Len) before you claim any crown

If true! Then other STIs will skyrocket.

A systematic review published in The Lancet (2019) found:

PrEP use was associated with a 44% increase in STI incidence (especially gonorrhea and chlamydia).

Numerous large-scale studies show that individuals on PrEP have:
  • Higher rates of condomless sex
  • More sexual partners
It’s a classic case of solving one public health crisis while unintentionally fueling another. PrEP has been a game-changer in the fight against HIV, no doubt. But in the process, we’ve seen a sharp rise in gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis.

Very true and since 2019 STI has grown another 75% with illegals not being healthy screened

Being with Gilead a few months, what I have seen in comparison with other companies whom I would for, this Prep Division will never be Big Brother of anything. I am really shocked & disappointed. Hopefully things will get better after approval but my RD is clueless to management

Bingo that's the massive growth of STI STD and general virus popping up in US that we never had. Illegals that are not screened
Partially true. Black population is experiencing the biggest rise as a whole mostly due to lack of testing and a distrust of the healthcare system in general. Hispanic population is second and higher than whites for the same reason listed above. Stop just blaming it on "illegals". You sound so uneducated.
