That feeling of dread

ESPECIALLY that one, but frankly every Sunday eve.
well maybe you are not in right job.

I left a few years ago, due to the dishonest back stabbing at review time.

Mothership Lilly valued honesty more in the past possibly, though that could depend on your manager and HR rep

There is nothing like the relief of being gone from a toxic situation. I was once in one of those team building mixers where the lady next to me told me about her stress related medical condition. I listened with compassion but quietly thought, "maybe it's not a good job fit."

I agree, there is nothing like the relief of being gone from a toxic situation... except maybe for the relief that I didn't follow my finance guy's advice and sell my stock when I left in 2019 (mainly because we live in a blue state and plan to eventually move somewhere with lower taxes). It almost feels a little dirty, especially when I hear how many people at Lilly are on stress related medical leave these days.

Lilly is a for profit company that is publicly traded. It’s not a family and, therefore, it’s not designed to keep you happy and safe. The Lilly culture is designed to keep you working so the company can continue to make money for shareholders. Lilly, presents itself as a place that cares about you and patients, but it really doesn’t. That makes it toxic..if you believe them. Stop believing the BS, do your job, collect your pay and search for real connection and family outside of Lilly. That’s the way you protect your mental health. What you do for Lilly, doesn’t define you.

Well said! You have to check out mentally to survive here. Bottom line.

It's not just Lilly, most jobs are like that-these companies are there to make money and hire us to help them be more profitable so their shareholder value gets bigger. I agree that Lilly doesn't care if it's you or the next person doing your job; that's any company though, unless you go work for a small mom-n pop business and make a fraction of what you get here. But we do have pretty nice benefits and a lot of time off, something that many companies don't offer.
High stress is real though, but again, that's a lot of jobs. It seems that we have to learn to set boundaries ourselves.

They don’t care at all ! We care about the patients and the company and it can destroy you if you believe them. We are a number and a unit !
