Pay is only good if you are comparing to PCP rep jobs. When comparing to higher end specialty and or rare disease jobs, the pay here is well below standards. I mean 135-140 may have been decent maybe 8-10 years ago but it’s really lame in 2025.

Pay is excellent if you’re in the PCP HIV role, which isn’t a speciality position nor is it rare disease.

The fact they all took the 135 - 140 base, serves as proof that they know they can’t make this high of an income any place else with their sales skillset.

If they were as skilled & as marketable as they feel they are, we’d see a mass exodus of vacant territories.

But since they can’t find anyone who’ll pay them more, they stay.

WHO is making 135-140? Seriously? No one is making that low. Secondly, the bonus for Prep is going to be big for this kind or product. It's definitely not rare disease but I've got a pretty small territory and I'm home every night and have great benefits vs many other companies. No one is keeping you here if you'd like to go back where you came from.

We never had all these complaints about PrEP salary until ViiV people came here.

My offer was 145 and it was pulling teeth to get them to 148. I get it, it’s a job for now but I will continue my job search as there are lots of companies and positions paying significant more. No need for the insult replies. Just stating the reality of the pay here.

If there’s so many companies paying significantly more, then why did you even take the offer?

Yes, there’s companies paying significantly more for Specialty positions.

But since, according to you, there’s so many companies paying significantly more for HIV, then name at least 3 of these companies that pay so much more for HIV.

The person didn't specifically say HIV. That said, apparently there's a really big range of salary on the Prep team. My advice to the new people (or otherwise) not making a big salary is take advantage of each and every benefit Gilead offers no matter how small and it'll start to add up. I didn't learn that until after being here for a few years and I missed out. Also if you're going to leave, max out your 401K match as soon as you can so you can at least walk away with that.

Save the company Homer BS. No need to kiss azz on CP. I know your type always working meetings getting your nose brown stained up. Taking that approach on CP will get you lit up. Big salaries are relative at this company. The person making 158k who thinks They are making bank cuz they compare themselves to others making 140k is foolish. Bottom line is starting salaries here pays base pay well below Industry baselines. I’m sure there are reps who Abe been here several years could make more but we’re talking starting salaries here which are a good 30-50k less which is pitiful.

Gilead post the HIV Salary Range,
So this COMPLAINER knew what the HIV Salary Range was BEFORE he/she applied.

I’m still interested in this person providing Proof that other HIV PreEP jobs are pay Significantly more.

It’s Highly Egregious to compare Apples & Oranges.

Try Honestly for once by truthfully saying other Specialty positions pay significantly more. Then take your honesty a step further by admitting to yourself HIV PrEP is NOT Specialty. Hence the lower salary.

But again…
Please do share all these other companies you found that are paying HIV PrEP reps significantly more than Gilead.

Again nobody said HIV gigs. Go back and read the posts. You’ll see specialty and rare disease being mentioned. That’s what they are comparing Gilead salary too. I personally sell in rare disease. It sounds like HIV is more geared towards PCP and more entry level pay which has a place for some for sure. Get the experience and work your way up to a true specialty or rare opportunity. Well let me light you up then. I'm not Prep and I started here making 170 and am now making 207 in a matter of right over four years. I wouldn't have come here for one penny less and without my sign on bonus. Pretty good for an easy gig and small territory compared to most. Once again I feel pretty well compensated here. If I were someone making 135-140 I would leave. Period. That's just a fact not kissing a**.
