To leadership: Evolve survey

Too many managers. Too many field rides. No autonomy. The micromanagement is killing sales innovation. My customers see my manager too much. They don’t like him. He’s overbearing and desperate. Fire half the managers and let sales people do sales.

Another shitty survey. They didnt do a thing about the last one. This one was even worse. The next you hear about the survey will be an email in 2026 to complete it. Negelle won’t be here for that one.

The number of field rides is obscene. You can totally tell if someone is working or not by what’s going on the credit card.
If field rides are for “development”, I am the same damn rep I was 10/20 years ago.
The introduction of impact measures, has turned field rides into a dog & pony show.
Most managers at this company are terrible sales people. They got the gig because they drink the kool-aid and can bust out a basic excel spreadsheet with the team’s performance numbers.
Outside of that, the five managers I have worked for have been totally worthless.

The number of field rides is out of control. Credit card, gas, tolls payments, you can figure out who is working. Since arriving at this company, compared to my previous 2 industry jobs, I have had more field rides here in 21 months than both of those combined. DBM here is okay- but it is not industry standard.

When I first started as a pharma rep, my manager told me he would see me twice a year; once to do my annual review and once to make sure I hadn’t sold the company car (this actually happened). If he needed to come visit more often, well I might need to find another job. More field rides was not a good sign. Best of luck to everyone through the rest of the year.

Hey Negelle & Dave, we’ve tried the micromanagement approach and it’s a collassal failure. Time to be nimble and change our approach. Customers are so offended by the constant manager presence. Not adding any value just another distraction. Thank you

We have access to customers-which other reps are not permitted into until recently have been politely warned that our welcome is worn out along with our coffee order. Say no to field rides.

Epic man, love this story.

If the company is doing its due diligence and hiring the BEST people for the position, and also, training its people according to company standards, then we wouldn’t need our worthless boss up our ass 24/7..

If you were one of the best people for the position and trained according to company standards, you’d understand why you need a coach.

The worst thing a company can do is give the sales reps a voice to complain. The complaints are always the same - “I want less supervision.” If you only had any idea how easy your job was and how bad you were at it, you’d be begging for help anywhere you can get it. And, if your manager isn’t welcome in an office, chalk it up to your relationships not being nearly as good as you think they are coupled with the fact that you just kiss ass and don’t move the needle when your manager isn’t with you. What you nitwits seem to think is that your work is to spend lunch money and buy gas. What a stupid, fucking approach to your job. No wonder your manager is with you so often. Get better and shut the fuck up, or go do something else.

Looks like someone found the keys to the kool aid cabinet. Easy on the sugar there card carrying Novo cult member. Place is a shitshow. Senior leadershit is clueless, has been since they got success drunk after the tictoc Ozempic craze. Note to self, it’s long gone…..

Real intuitive comments. Love the language. However I must say you are correct it’s an easy job especially when you look at what you earn and unbelievable benefits. Very few professional jobs that you will find any easier. That’s a fact. And it’s true almost all companies do surveys, as they should. However, most things aren’t gonna change. And let’s be honest everybody wants less supervision. Everybody ! Most managers if they know anything at all they know who’s working and who isn’t . And it’s also true that managers spend way too much time in offices where they’re not wanted, it’s counterproductive. They have to do it because it’s in their job description they have metrics to meet as well. But Novo‘s sales model is antiquated. It’s out of date. They don’t need to be in front of the same HCPs. Have you ever looked at a customers eyes when they see you with your manager? They literally cringe. They melt on the spot. They can’t hide it. It’s so counterproductive and IMO at least 80% of sales reps, tell their customers the next time they see them they will be with their manager. And can you blame them? It’s it’s nothing but a dog and pony show. I’m not saying managers shouldn’t work with some reps in front of customers maybe the less experienced ones. How about this novice idea?
A manager meets with a rep and or a pod of reps and discusses business at breakfast or lunch? Ask the rep if there’s any customers she/he needs to see or is there any customers he’s having problems with. And yes, some reps are nitwits and so are a lot of managers. Most reps want to work hard they want to do their job. If we really are putting the patients and the HCP‘s first, we need to give our customers a little break instead of using their office as a sales lab.

Are you really saying that if an office isn’t welcoming to my manager, it’s my fault because some how I don’t have a relationship in there? Dude, your a dumb ass, as is the rest of your dip shit commentary.
Your probably the rep that calls in sick or goes on disability when your manager puts a ride day on your lame ass.
