What are growth opportunities like? Got an offer to come to Cambridge but the TC seems low to me for the greater Boston area. I see Takeda went through a few layoffs last year wanted to see what’s going on..
 




cambridge is full - rents above $4000 for a one bedroom. Everyone who commutes complains about it, and leaves at 2pm to “beat traffic”. Company is like any pharma, your job is always potentially on the chopping block.
 












Every team is understaffed and under resourced. I know someone who recently left and they couldn’t be happier and being compensated commensurate with the work.

I would not be surprised if more leave Cambridge once STIP is paid out & next LTIP awarded
 




What is wrong with the OBU? why is it so terrible? I keep hearing this and just curious what is actually going on and why it hasn't gotten better.
Starts with the top. There is no culture, unless unrealistic sales goals for the field, and not enough people in the home office to do all that is asked or demanded of them. There is also an issue with position pay levels be lower than industry for similar responsibilities. The only reason more people have not left is that there haven’t been many openings in the Boston/Cambridge area, but that is changing. The real quality people will leave soon enough.
 


I know 2 people who have left since the beginning of the year, and each of them said they were candid during their exit interview yet nothing changes. I’m not saying you have to listen everyting as accurate, but when they keep hearing the same thing and do not make any changes, they will only have themselves to blame as more people leave.

Global leader and US leader are the purveyors of the toxicity with outdated strategies that have led to an empty pipeline and taking supportive care products from the rare disease BU. Shame on them.
 


The home office is so woke that they can’t get anything productive done or they are on an H1B visa for less money and they don’t have the right experience to run this place. These people are on international calls asking for moving packages out of the country because they are scared the administration is bully them. They don’t go to work enough to be bullied. Sounds like an H1B visa employee that needs to just go back to their own country.
 




Disappointing this thread devolved about green cards. It takes away from the larger point. The OBU is in serious trouble. Quality people have left and other very good people have been displaced by reorgs every year over the past 4 years. Yes it would help to have true game changing drugs (we don’t), but the culture has gotten worse with each leadership change. OTMs and lower level home office peoplare viewed as easily replaceable, and that fuels distrust. We will do another survey this year, and the results will come out bad again, and they won’t understand why.

Won’t change until Global and US head are removed. This is the core issue and it is them directing these changes and leaving an empty pipeline. Quite frankly, it’s ridiculous we haven’t been integrated into the USBU
