Before you berate someone, you may want to understand the English language yourself:
Acronym: an abbreviation that turns into a pronounceable word. For example: SSE is an abbreviation. NASA: National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Essentially, all acronyms are abbreviations, but not all abbreviations are acronyms.
