LONDON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - British drugmaker GSK (GSK.L), will no longer set diversity targets, it said on Thursday, as it became the latest company to scale back or abandon such goals in response to the U.S. president's opposition to them.
Finally back to a level playing field! Never understood why promotions and raises were based on "Diversity Targets" instead of merit. Certain minorities were promoted from rep to FLL to Regional Vice President to Sector VP and so on for no reason other than to meet a quota.

Nice to see some sanity return. But it’s too little, too late. The damage is already done. It will take years, if ever, to recover from this woke stupidity. All the diversity hires are running the company now, and the mediocrity is evident for all to see. GSK is a laughing stock.
 


Ah yes, the brave decision to abandon diversity targets—what a bold, trailblazing move in the relentless quest to return to the status quo. After all, why bother with the exhausting effort of inclusion when you can just rebrand mediocrity as “meritocracy”? It’s almost poetic: years of pledges, panels, and performative progress flushed away in the name of “efficiency,” as if diversity were some quirky experiment we all politely endured. Who knew equality had an expiration date conveniently aligned with quarterly earnings?

I want to include religious beliefs in my secondary analysis. Are people with certain religious beliefs superior to others? Are people with certain religious beliefs being oppressed? Is there a mediocrity within the fabric of corporate America based strictly on religious beliefs?

It’s not just blacks. GSK promotes low performing reps who have never contributed anything to the company but can go in an interview and BS their way to a promotion. These low performing reps have lied and cheated the company and yet are being given management positions. Sick leadership and will get what they ask for. This is why the company does poorly and has lost all respect.
 


So glad I left years ago. Used to be a great company. Remember Glaxo Wellcome? The merger between GSK and SmithKline was the beginning of the end. The RVPs best ideas were reach and frequency - and it continues to this day. Idiots running this company.

Yes, you're right! The sanity will return slowly and it will possibly take years to recover from "woke stupidity". However, it'll be worth the effort in the long run! I'm all in!

It seems that GSK top brass is out of touch as the focus is on weekly calls on high target providers that repel seeing a rep on the same topic every week. So the offices have made it impossible to see a provider every week and this is why they instituted breakfast and lunch appointments. Top brass does not understand how hard reps work to get the right message out and to move mountains to see a provider along with getting them to understand the importance of your product and how it can help their patients.

Unfortunately, the DEI programs of most companies do not have the proper objectives for Diversity hiring and promoting. What we saw over the previous years was hiring based on race and ethnicity.....Diversity hiring needs to hire the BEST candidate.....and there are ways a manager/director needs to perform in terms of finding potential diversity candidates....when they DO NOT have an open position, but need to constantly recruit for the best candidates and to call on them when an opening occurs.....then their are not issues of underqualified, underperforming individuals who are hired/promoted.....the person who get hired must perform or they are out.

How many examples of failed DEI hires and policies would you like to discuss ? We can start with the last VP and Press Secretary and work our way to GSK’s District level. Failure after failure after failure.
