Field activation specialist position

You can’t go Rare from any of the HIV.

You can go Rare from Covid/Hospital Sales because Reps have already done it.

You can go Rare from Liver, you can go ultra Rare from Oncology.

You can’t from HIV.
From HIV you’ll still have to go into another specialty first & choose that specialty with intention so your next move could possibly be rare.
Exactly Gilead sucks.

Ok dude give it up. What are you a recruiter for Mixed Talent? LMAO… You can’t even navigate your own career. Get back to planning for your food order tomorrow.

Disregard the idiot above. It’s probably the SE RD who throws mud on others all the time. Thanks for this insight. I agree, HIV is a career limiting move. Even within Gilead it’s challenging to go from Community to PrEP and from PrEP to Treatment. So if the people inside HIV at the same company don’t respect the other roles, why would someone outside of HIV in another specialty see valuable our experience?

In your opinion, which specialty or disease state outside of HIV is the easiest to pitch this experience to and sets me up for stronger future earning potential?

depends where you want to end up long term. If rare is your goal, it’s a tall ask to get there from any Gilead sales force. You will likely need to jump to another specialty Pharma company that pays better and has a better reputation. whatever you do, dont Get pigeon holed by staying at Gilead beyond 2 years/

What are you talking about?
Several people have successfully gone directly from Gilead, to rare from every single BU expect HIV.

Your L4P experience will opens the door to higher compensation roles. Focus on what it’ll help you bring to the table. L4P is a buy & bill injectable with some specialty pharmacy coordination. This will give you rare & highly valuable sales experience. Most reps, even in specialty, don’t have buy & Bill experience, so this sets you apart immediately.

Your easiest & most lucrative transition will be transferring the skills you gain with L4P, to Immunology Buy-and-Bill roles. Think: Dupixent, Skyrizi, Cosentyx, Rinvoq, Tremfya.
Base salaries typically range from $170K–$185K.

You could also pivot into Hospital Injectables or In-Office Infusions (like Abilify Maintena, Invega Trinza, or IV antibiotics). Typical starting base is $165K–$185K

After a few years in either of these roles & sales success, then you can pivot to Rare. Good luck.

Key takeaway is get out of low paying Gilead before the cruse hits your career.

Not sure where you’re getting your information from. Gilead pays these exact same higher compensation salaries in the other BUs. There’s no cruse to your career at Gilead. HIV is the only BU that isn’t paid as much as the others & thats because HIV it’s NOT complex selling & most (inside Gilead & outside Gilead) don’t view HIV as Specialty Sales.

You obviously only know what you know. Just like a kid who only eats cheese pizza and says it’s his favorite food. Haha. Keep flexing that narrow perspective. Yeah man Gilead is as good as it gets.

Ha!! "...pivot to Hospital Injectables"?? So it's that easy is it? Good luck with that. You clearly don't know what you don't know. Good luck.
