Virology

I’m not bitter about not being hired; I’m bitter about the most unprofessional interview process I’ve ever encountered at Merck. You wasted my time and the time of others. I spent at least seven to eight hours researching and preparing. I talked to every sales representative and manager who touched the territory, learning about accounts, challenges, each state’s coverage, and politics. I presently call on every type of customer in the job description.
And Merck gives me…
One interview, ONE! Not even with the hiring manager. The deadline announcing managers passed weeks ago. You didn't even have the decency to call us personally and provide feedback.

I'm no longer proud to work at Merck, especially this division.
I couldn't agree more, such an unprofessional interview process. The panel included random people who don't know virology and some interviews were only 15 minutes. I think it was all a scam. They had no intentions of hiring new CLs or CL managers, this is how they get rid of the CLs who don't fit their mold.

Completely agree. Promoting it as a S3 position to the sales team and saying it was an account management position was bs. Others in the company who applied were told they did get the jobs because of lack of HIV experience. What is the excuse for the HIV sales reps? Hearing they are all coming from outside Merck, after one interview, makes me question leadership, again.

Is it true they offered the job to the previous CL's and left the sales people to wait WEEKS? They asked the CL's not to tell anyone. This is getting more and more unethical.

Exactly, makes me question leadership AGAIN

I am deeply concerned about the state of the Virology division. I personally believe that our current administration's policies on DEI, should have been implemented much sooner. Unfortunately, the changes didn't happen quickly enough. This could have prevented the hiring of that transgender minority responsible for the termination of a decorated veteran. They really got this one wrong . We need new leadership desperately.

Conrod will be writing a LinkedIn post shortly, spinning a different story of how his great leadership led to dramatic change for the better. The man is a joke, all hype (from himself).

Has anyone looked at the background of the people they hired for the CEEL roles? THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW PHARMA...which makes sense because leadership doesn't know HIV.
