Is it true that JNJ no longer will match an employee’s contribution in their 401K?
I heard this from my manager but have seen nothing official. So there is no pension…and no contributions?? Why?

Fake news. Still matching .75/1.00, up to 6%. Also, pension still exists in some fashion for all employees.

No. Lifetime medical is not "included in the pension." It is commonly misunderstood and the pension and medical are two separate benefit. For as good as the benefits are at J&J, it is amazing how little employees know about them. Yours is a common misperception. If you meet certain age and years of service qualifications, you can continue your medical benefits after you retire. The actual cost to you will depend on years of service and, I believe, the cost is lower the longer you have worked here. There are also rules around family coverage. This is an individualized calculation so best to call J&J Benefits center to get your estimate. It is also available on the benefits website or Alight app but you will have to dig to find it. The benefits people have been quite helpful, I have found. Good luck!

I’ve heard that JNJ has recently stopped matching post-tax 401(k) contributions once the pre-tax limit is reached. Apparently, there was an internal communication about this change around April 2025? These contributions refer to amounts made after hitting the pre-tax contribution limit. Has anyone else come across this information or can confirm if this change has occurred?

The pre-tax 401(k) contribution is still matched.
