Reaching New Lows, Willie Announces the global bonus Multiplier of 90% - For those who are not US related, this means that while we have achieved (and in some cases exceeded) our financial BP goals, we are 'gifted' for our hard work with the dregs of the industry standard remuneration barrel - Way to go J&J! If Willie and Co. were looking for a good way to drive away global talent, they have suceeded very well indeed!

I fully expect this announcement to be followed shortly by a global pay raise freeze as the J&J coffers are a little low after paying slick Willie his 2010 due for all the hard work performed (recall after recall, no vision for compliance and regulatory concern, layoffs galore, a DePuy spine replacement so that he could face the US Congress). A company CEO's work is never done.

Three beatings in one: 90% bonus multiplier, EVERYBODY is being shoved down the bell curve on ratings, and the GCF rollout last year. Bottom line is they have turned the bonus system spigot to a trickle. The days of the easy to get, annually increasing dollar payouts are over. J&J had a shitty year and we're all paying for it.

What do you expect in this recession? Jnj still spoils and babies their employees compared to the other giants in the industry. Look at what's going on to the field reps at pfizer and glaxo. Jnj is still spending too much on employee benefits than they should when many of the core product lines like tylenol are in trouble. We have the best salaries and benefits than any other company, diagnostics and biotechs included.

Did you know that the 0.9 multiplier does NOT apply to our dear leader Weldon? Well, it doesn't apply to the uppermost echelon of the company!

So, while their lack of vision and cost cutting measures are the ones that have us in the current financial situation, they still get the big bucks!
During my year-end review, I was told that my bonus was cut because I made some disparaging remarks once during the year that reach our senior leadership. So, my hard work and outstanding year-round performance exceeding targets and expectations was useless because I raised concerns about some of the policies we were implementing?!?!

Way to foster innovation and open communication!
I love it when the credo is only when it is convenient... If they want all yes-men and company drones, the current downward trend will only get worse!

I used to love this company... not any more!!

you are wrong. I just returned from a weekend at the beach with bill and let me tell you this has impacted him also. The crab legs were smaller than in the past, the steaks were more like medalians, you could see the angst on his face as his friends quietly chuckeld to themselves. I was bummed we didnt even take the boat out, but you could tell that it hadent been waxed since the week before. Some of his guest even left early. So while you think this doesnt impact our leaders, it surely does

Wait until J&J wants the outside-US businesses to cover the shortfalls in the US! We will lose the best global talent with these 'cost savings'.

This year, my 'emerging market' organization may lose 6-10 key directors and more managers simply because the offers on the outside are too good to refuse. These professionals have delivered consistent double-digit growth, opened markets, and exceeded profit targets. For their hard work they have received: *Demotions with GCF* *Forced rankings that push more of them down the distribution curve* AND *A cut in bonus that does not match their work results*.

In our region, top talent recruited in the last 3-4 years will be leaving soon.
