I don't work for this company, in fact I left Pharma about 8 years ago. However, I am addicted to reading this company's posts. I've seen disgruntled but this takes the cake and now I Cant stop reading as I want to know "the rest of the story" When I was in the field starting in the 90s, we had to achieve call averages, leave samples and work hard. I am confused by what is so different with your company. I see this time stamp thing, couldn't do that because our signatures were on paper but other than that ... Call volume, samples, asking for the business is the same. What are the real issues? If I read entrepreneurial once I read it 100 times, how do you define that? When we owned our own business - it meant working our butts off, not taking vacation, wearing a ton of hats, and not spending a lot of time with family and friends because we were ramping up. What is an entrepreneurial culture in Pharma?

What could the company do differently from this point forward? Why don't you try giving them the feedback rather than playing the anonymous disgruntled employee? Some of your posts smell like entitlement and lack of ethics. Others not so much. If you were a manager how would you run the business? Seriously, don't tell me you can't sell the drug...as the saying goes a good sales person could sell ice to Eskimos. Try to find a positive approach to answering this post, if not, please don't bother as I have read all of the negative, yet entertaining ones already.
One more question, this really ages me as I just found this site and read everything today... Do you think mainly disgruntled employees do this sort of thing to vent the way some people use FB to brag?

I don't know what's more scary-- a supposed ex Rep trolling cafepharma boards for entertainment like a old man still living his highschool football star days or the reality, that management has nothing better to do while this company is sinking into the ground and 90% of the reps have their resumes out but to post on this site. If there's any questions to one of the MANY problems with this company, this would be it.

I would not layoff 10% of salesforce with the first full month of data on a new drug launch.
I would not continue to threaten jobs of those who work 10-12 hrs a day. I would admit there is a "data" issue instead of telling reps they aren't working right. Doctors who say they have issued refills and the script never showed up in the first place. Perhaps I would acknowledge that. I would allow my seasoned reps who know the territories, and have relationships --just let them sell. I would not expect 3 hours of conference calls when reps should be in field working. I would ask for feed back not lecture the people in the field. I would figure out the "data" issue. I would not continually tell my reps they will lose job if they don't hit MY metrics. Each territory is different maybe allow reps who the docs are writing the scripts but not showing up in data the ability to hit pharmacies without the-"you dont hit metrics you dont have job" mentality. I make a salary but this is taking a toll on my health. I would value my employees, learn from them, allow them to try new things in the field. That was why we came to this company. Now its big pharma with no results. Let us do our job. Figure your stuff out at corporate. If my doctors are writing I want to spend more time in my pharmacies. I feel failed from the beginning the company --pharmacies needed to be targeted yet corporate told us where to go and what to do. Now MY job is on the line. If this was my company none of this would happen. Why not issue coupons for the first script filled free? This would grab the pharmacist attention. They would order and fill the script. not any room to substitue at that point. Pharmacists know their customers they are the ones on the front line who hear every day the complaints of cost of drugs. Of course their first line of action is to substitute --then they save themselves a 5 min conversation with the complaining customer. My experience doctors like this drug. Pharmacists think its a joke. Use the information and come up with ideas to generate revenue.

Can you take over the company please? Right now it is ran by the 3 stooges who are 3 idiots. OP was definitely one of them, good for you to post real solutions. This micro managing is bull shit. It is not the reps fault. The data is truly screwed.

What you don't get is the reps ARE working their tails off! They are hitting the metrics, but the metrics are stopping them from really being able to call on the "right" people. The data is not accurate, the pharmacies are switching the meds and the reps can not spend the right amount of time stopping this because the company wants metrics. So you do what you are told and then threatened with your job if the numbers don't show. The numbers won't show because you can't call on the right people and pharmacies and the data is not accurate. Even the best sales people are not given the freedom to run their territory as they see fit.

What are the right metrics when someone is not meeting goal? If meeting goal - rep should be left alone!

No one is meeting goal and no one will with the metrics. Company started freaking out after the first week of data PHAST data which is not accurate. They have been changing the metrics every few weeks since then and now are talking lay offs. Strange, strange company.

I would start to point the finger at management and not the reps. Perhaps the management style needs to be looked into? Nothing is motivating about being beat up day in and day out with fear tactics.

Rethink the way we spend money as a company. Maybe ditch the inaccurate data, EEP kits, Excess amount of samples, money spent on upper management in the field, etc and instead invest money into figuring out the pharmacy issue.

What is the pharmacy issue and how would you fix it? C'mon, you have to
Know at least someone from corporate reads this stuff - a list of problems is helpful but a list of solutions might have some impact. A little help here!

Ok now you are getting creepy. At this point I hope you are from management. Otherwise you have issues and need to seek help.

Or maybe management has no clue how to purchase data from pharmacies and mass merchants. how hard could it be to cross reference mckesson orders etc. figure it out and let the reps know. we were hired on a pay per script so in essence it doesnt benefit horizon to acknowledge scripts. load up your info. for group lawsuit

To the poster who says it's the product and nobody wants it.

Reps out there with over 200 prescriptions for the product you say nobody wants.

Maybe nobody wants to buy from you?

Or maybe nobody buys from you because you are sitting at home complaining about having to go to work and break a sweat for once in your crummy life.

Please resign today.

Thank you!

The majority of reps have a lot less and NO rep is even close to the goal the company set. Lets be honest. No one should resign, double dip. Makes you feel a lot better about being sucked into this dying company.

Wow that's great advice! Double dip? Go ahead. If you are ever caught, you will be sued and we will make it our objective to send all of the documentation to your new employer. Hows that sound tough guy. You idiot. Oh, and in case you were not aware, the criminal offense is fraud. It is a felony and we will pursue the any and all charges allowed by law. The FDA offense is called falsification of records.
