This product will threaten your long standing relationships with your MD for very little return.
Read the package insert, the one with the Black Box. Loose sutures, wound dehiscence, cardiovascular risk, problems with prep. Repeatedly mentioned in earnings calls. No solution until next year, if FDA approves.
Be aware of companies with crap products buying you for your relationship and knowing their own reps couldn’t get it done because of above mentioned problems. Even with pass through status, pathetic.

The poster above is an idiot. Zyn works very well when prepared and used correctly. Those sales haven't just come out of thin air. Crosslink reps that care about their relationship will drive Zyn usage to reduce the likelihood of patients coming back harassing the surgeon and staff for opioids or complaining about severe pain and other complications. It really is a no brainer.

Or… just have anesthesia put Exparel in a nerve block. No brainer to cut down OR time. Gonna be tough to compete against them.

Exparel doesn't work nearly as long as Zyn since there's no second API like meloxicam to lower inflammation. Awareness and training on Zyn are likely the only barriers left at this point to outcompete Exparel meaningfully. I am only concerned about corrupt surgeons that still choose to use Exparel in situations where it's the inferior option to Zyn.

EXPAREL data for lower extremity shows 4 days. That doesn’t beat Zynrelef. I’ve continually heard surgeons and pharmacy speak about infections, blister, rashes, tissue necrosis, readmissions to the ER for pain and bleeding with Zynrelef.

Awareness and training will provide understanding on why it is not worth risking the lucrative implant revenue or the relationships that have been built for many years. This is just a way for Heron to get in with Ortho where they couldn’t on their own. It’s sampled for free, less expensive, has pass through status but doesn’t get sales. Why? Because it is unsafe and an inefficient, time suck, pain in the ass in the OR.

A big hush hush about the vanc powder releasing the bupi 30 percent immediately. Sure it still lasts 72 hours. I’m surprised that it hasn’t been pulled but then an again the reps have to report. Word seems to be out so I’m sure ortho reps are aware as many of the orthos that were using stopped.

Lots of drugs interactions but hadn’t heard this. Please explain why this is an issue.
All I hear is seepage at the incision and loose sutures.

Why is this product so hard to figure out?? If you’re having issues with Zyn, just switch from the 6mg to the 3mg, or vice versa! Double barreling might be off label, but if you aren’t at least talking about this with your docs you’re not doing your job. Welcome to the Zynmulation!!

Vanc powder was never tested in combination with Z prior to launch. Vanc powder is used in ortho for knees and spine as welll. They tested it after in rabbits with surgeons reporting short duration and found that that it interacts with z and makes the bupi/meloxicam release 30% immediately. The whole point of the product is release over 72 hours. There is no way it can last 72 hours if 30% releases immediately. I’ve heard of multiple accounts of patients returning to ER for pain and bleeding/seepage and then the sutures coming apart as well.

I don't think this is as alarming as you may believe because you wouldn't have the sales growth every quarter if the adverse event affected clinical outcomes that frequently. Medical affairs exists for this exact reason. I'd imagine they'd see a few of these adverse events and advise the field, probably something like adjusting dosage to augment duration of effect or use an alternative antimicrobial prophylaxis without a similar interaction.

What sales growth? Zyn is not growing, it’s a failed launch. That’s why they are paying CrossLink to do what they couldn’t
