Attire in the field

I was just curious about what the expectations for dress were in the field (business, business casual, etc.). What do the reps wear and what do the regional sales managers wear. Not getting bogged down in this but I have a couple of weeks before I start with IDEXX and just want to get an idea about what I need-never sold in vet practices before. Thanks in advance for your help.
 


It depends on what part of the country you are covering, which distributor (if any) you are working with, and the individual veterinarians you are visiting. Your distributor will know what their clients expect of you. Some Veterinarians are insulted if you are not in coat and tie, some are just the opposite.
 




Female rep weighing in here, just to overcome the assumption. Nice dress, blouse/ skirt or slacks combo. No need for a jacket unless you ad cold or covering sleeveless. Professional shoes, no sneakers or caual sandals. You are not cleaning up dog crap all day so feel free to dress like a sales rep.
