I know bard provides company cars. If I have a poor driving record, is there a cash alternative so I can use my own car? Or should I not even bother interviewing? Is the fleet policy flexible, or very strict? Only serious answers please!! Thank you

Im interviewing with cook who gives a cash alternative to car & I spoke to a recruiter about bard but have a bad driving record. I'd like to try but don't want to waste time. Please help

I would contact a Bard rep or multiple reps to find more about the job and get the real information on the car. I spoke with a couple the beginning of last year and they stated that they pay under $100 a month for use of a company car. They reported business and personal miles to the company. I can't remember if they said 450 or 475 for the car stipend. It is taxed like all stipends and they also paid for gas for business. I think it also has to be relatively new and you have to somehow add Bard on your insurance. I heard that there were several people who took the car option but most took the company car because of the amount of miles you end up driving and in comparison to other companies the low stipend. I had just bought a new car and was considering a Bard position. I ended up interviewing with the DM but I decided not to move forward as I took a job with Covidian. I'm starting to put my resume out just in case things change for us here.

As far as driving records,it did not sound like they are too strict if they want you. Usually the background checks are the last thing they do so if they have invested a lot of time in you they probably want to fill the position. As long as you tell them what they will find and it's not a felony, I don't think they can discriminate against you even if it is a DUI as long as it does not interfere with your ability to do the job.

I had a second interview. The manager told me 450 taxed and not negotiable. there were also other requirements on the car but he did not know what they were. He believed gas would be included. It was suggested that I should look into breaking my lease as Bard did not like to do car allowances. It appears adequate.
