Average comp for reps

Can anyone offer some info on compensation range of a rep here? I've been told that there are multiple levels of reps, and that year 1 for one of the lower levels would be around $110k, but a lot of reps are $160-$180k by year 3. Any insight or information on this is appreciated.

Just know this... Reps that are making any kind of bank did it on the backs of out of network labs. The push for growth in with labs that are in network is slow so don't plan on hitting quota too often. The best and most successful reps left the co after they won pclub

You could always double dip like many of the reps do

Please explain what you mean by "double dip"

Oh the old double dip. You must not be from the lab world. Get ready to either partake in:

the double dip where you can earn $$$ from small regional out of network Labs by getting them reqs for their over-inflated cardio panel that you are just one very small test on. You get credit for the test and a little something something on the side per req. You will require a shower at least twice a day as you will feel so dirty and you will have stabbed other lab partners in the back. This is a common practice here at Lipo

OR you could

Attempt to grow your business through Lab Corp and never hit your quota number.

OP here. Thanks for the info. So for someone who doesn't double dip, and uses in network labs the majority of the time, what is the realistic comp for first year and does the $160k by year 3 (that I was told) sound reasonable?

Not that I would only use in network etc, just looking to get a good idea of the salary/commission baseline I'm working with. Thanks again

definitely need more info before I could give you an answer.

What base? the original rep base or the new lower base for layoff positions being back filled? There is about a 10K difference between the two.

What territory/lab mix/ insurance mix. Right labs will help you grow but wrong labs and you will struggle. Lack of insurance coverage or recent changes due to coverage or lab issues and you could be in a real up hill battle to even keep your job.

Just know that we are filling positions that were once filled by hard working, passionate employees. If they left on their own it was because they couldn't make money here. If they were cut... well then don't be shocked if you get cut too in short order.

Can anyone speak to how the IC plan work? what is at plan? how many people hit plan?
I don't seem to get a straight answer from anyone on this when I ask.

2013 YTD rankings have not been released.
Reps receive zero data regarding physician usage.

You can't get a straight answer because no one knows. Now that lab partners are dropping the NMR (HDL and Solstas), Liposcience is scrambling to figure how to recover from huge losses.

Oh MY....

woo woo woo hold the phone. 2013 rankings have not been released? Is this common and what I could expect coming on board? Not knowing where I stand or how I was paid?

Great questions to ask the hiring manager. It pays to do your homework. I made the mistake of not asking the right questions, now I'm stuck and not making any money. They had all of us sold on a crapshoot. Good for you for doing your research. Best of luck.

I'd love to see you ask my manager "a real company man" that question.
