That's a decent range these days, even in specialty. Just saw a Urology position advertised for a $65-85 base, in L.A. where the cost of living is high.

I had expected that after the ouster of the former VP of Sales, Tony Chambers, back in 2017 and the exit of the CEO, and especially after the acquisition where the old Keryx name was dropped in favor of Akebia, things would have changed for the better. But appears that the terrible Keryx legacy continues under a new name. Like putting lipstick on a pig, I suppose.

I was told up to 150k but only in special circumstances with experience and relationships.
