Best division of ethicon

Looking to jump from one op co to another and was wondering what ethicon division is good to work for ie... Work life balance, income potential and job satisfaction. There is an opening for a hernia specialist is that worth applying to and letting my manager know I am interested in leaving?

What pharma division are you coming from? Not sure how often reps move from one op company to another but i guess it worth a shot. Does anybody know if this is possible?
 








Very difficult job. High risk/high reward. You must have OR experience in most cases as this job is spent 90% of the time in OR's fighting it out with other reps to get your mesh used.

High risk/high reward meaning low base pay but great potential for comission? Who is the market leader nationally?

You don't have to have OR experience. The last two reps I have seen come in did not. Also, be warned that they are telling reps coming in that plan is 170. BOGUS. Very few have made that. Maybe 5%. Average is 120-125.
 










Ha! Your class of 30 wasn't because of expansion or growth, it's because everyone who knows what's going on here has jumped ship.

C. Clever told me they had to get rid of dead weight. That this was the place to be, and that this division was going to hit forcast in 2011. The new product launches would make the difference. OK, most of what she says is BS, but do you know anybody who believes this crap? Who really wants to stay, or who really believes that this won't end with a pink slip.

want to make the jump from Lifescan. any insight on the hernia specialist position?

It completely depends on your territory & manager. Eitherway it's MUCH better then Lifescan. Get's you the OR experience you definitely need! Absorbable tacker (SecureStrap) should be re-launched end of April. It's a great product & if you have a large amount of Lap Hernia surgeons you can make good money with a great QOL. Overall, I'd say it's the 3rd or 4th best place to be (Acclarent-1 & Mentor-2 toss-up between Biosurgery & Hernia). Good luck!
