Bob G "Call to Action" email

How superficial and self serving was his "call to action" email about how he told the story to the DBM team that his wife thought his last IC check was his expense report check because it was apparently so little.

At a time where unemployment is at an all time high and people are just happy to be employed in pharma or in any industry, he should be thankful, that he received anything.

It seems as if it's not "all about the patient"....it's about the bottom line, his bank account!

Good one and really motiviating Bob G.

Sorry its not all about the patient. This is a business and while I enjoy the fact that what I do makes a difference I expect to be paid for the revenue I bring in to this company.

Bob G should stop whining to his reps and look into the BS IC plan that we all work under. 80% of the sales force not at goal and he thinks its the reps fault?

Remember when Bill Clinton was in office he had a sign in the office that read "Its the economy, stupid".

Hey Bob....Its the IC plan stupid.

Bob, how difficult do you think it is for us when we get those tiny paychecks? we make a heck of a lot less than you and have plenty of expenses.

If Bob didn't have incompetents RBD's working under him, his IC would be better.

I wonder who wrote this? Someone wishin for the next RBD job??? Maybe Bogi could sell one of his flat screens in his RV that he was bragging about on stage at the POA last winter cuz his IC from Victoza was so high. This guy couldnt motivate a cheerleader. By your leadership standards, you should be out as AVP. Its all about performance management, right????

Why is it that you blame the AVP when numbers are shitty, but, in the same breath, take credit for anything good that happens?

i don't think the rep is blaming the avp. there is only so much ya'll can control out there. my superior told me he manages to performance. so by that rational, he should be looked at the same way. he has been dead last in the nation for some time and he should be gone instead of blaming the rbd's, who have little control over numbers.

It's a stupid f-ing job and everyone just needs to continue to fake calls and fake conversations with prescribers and get their paychecks. Just smile and nod and say "awesome" to things like this and you will remain out of harm's way in this stupid, f-ing company.

I wonder if BG mentioned about the long term incentive he has recieved over the years along with the additional stock options that RBD's and higer receive. Oh yes, we all know about the additional stock options that usually bring in more than most reps base salaries. And yes, I am a DBM... Just tired of all the FACT, BS and pressure to get rid of good reps when we all know the numbers are bad. I have a great team and they are constantly under the microscope of RBD's putting pressure every time we talk or via e-mail to put people on plans. I too would like to leave. Just trying to protect my good reps. And yes, I do get LTC, but I feel gulty when I know my reps are the ones who are making it all happen. And by the way, I do take care of them at Christmas with some nice presents as payback - and I mean nice.

Wow.....an honest and ethical manager. We need more like you at Novo! You are almost in a class all by itself. To even show empathy for your reps is unheard of with most Novo DBM's. You sound like a true leader. I'll bet your reps really respect you.

"We know all the numbers are bad"? Please tell us more oh great leader!

You probably know about 3 managers, but you assume that all are unethical and lack empathy. Grow up, man.

Just so you know, reps can get LTI as well--you just have to achieve the Executive DCS level to receive it. Get an 'EE' or 'O' on your year-end review and you get LTI. The same is true for DBMs and RBDs--if Bob G. got an ME, he gets no LTI.

Question for HR/management:

Why do some threads get pulled and others do not when an individual is named? I am NOT defending Bob G., but it is interesting that this thread has not been pulled, while others are when names or even their email initials are used.

I believe in free speech in a public forum such as CP, as it is the ONLY way for pharma reps to vent their frustration with management/company/industry.

Just because some leaders may lack people skills, be greedy and self absorbed don't pick on the wives. Most wives are clueless to the stress spouses are under and how hard it is to maintain a certain lifestyle or pay bills because they never had a real career. Plus usually it is the breadwinner who wants to keep the other at home for many reasons. No need to pick on the wife. is he really that tough?

I work in the west. Been here about 3 years. Have never spoke directly to him, nor has he positively or negatively impacted me. My RBD has done very little for me as well. I am sure they tell our DBMs what to do but things are not that bad here. My guess the OP of this thread got fired for being stupid or is about to and wants to trash anyone they feel are involved. Look in the mirror fool! Be honest and tell us what you see! Oh wait, you can't be honest, that's why you were fired!
