Bonuses, RSUs

If you haven't already heard, it's a 60% bonus payout for the year. RSUs will no longer be awarded to anyone with the exception of salespeople and c-suite.
Annual raise is 3.5% for those below a certain pay grade (ask your managers if you don't know yours), and 2.5% for those above a certain pay grade.

What do you mean by 60% bonus payout?

we don’t get full bonus because of company performance.
Oh, bonus for internal folks, not commission for sales.

That's crazy, since KC is telling Wallstreet we killed it!

"We did great! Our overall payroll was decreased 7% because I forecast based on what I need to tell Wallstreet, not based on opportunity"

LOL commission sales will be affected as well. If the company is underperforming (still not profitable!) that’s a driver for not meeting company goals which is why corporate bonuses are down. The only way for Kevin to win is for everyone else to lose.

Thanks Kevin. Way to push morale to an all time low. It's not so much about the bonus or rsu program ending, or even the raises. Its just become painfully clear you just don't give a damn about the company or it's employees. We all do appreciate one email a quarter lauding us for our commitment when you clearly have none.

Stop complaining. Not happy? Leave.

That is exactly what people are doing. Leaving. Not the lazy useless ones, but the high quality ones; at least those few that are left. It's because we all realize the futility of our work and that the company will be out of business soon. This is happening from corporate to the lab. And it's showing in the current quarter numbers and chaos.

Nah. Upper leadership wants us to leave. I'm going to sit and collect a paycheck and laugh. Spew toxic positivity upwards to annoy you inbreds in upper leadership.

This is what’s happening. The motivated and strong sales people leave. But there are HUNDREDS I mean hundreds of people who are checked out and do NOT care but they will sit around and collect a paycheck until they can’t anymore. And why wouldn’t they???? Hire 400 people from Pfizer who never had to interview for their job. Gave them signing bonus and stock. Hundreds of people who got severance and some with pensions and they got paid for the last few years regardless of performance. probably 100-125k avg plus some bonus and all the stock that Exact throws at anyone with a pulse. As a result leadership pissed off anyone legacy who has been here years and paid less than the Pfizer dead weight, so that legacy dead weight will also collect a paycheck and won’t leave because they want to collect on stock until they get fired. And many have other jobs or side gigs or just spend 20 hours a week golfing or napping. And many roll their eyes when the sales force expanded multiple times a year but they will still sit back and get paid and get stock.

Good. That is what upper leadership is doing as well. They are collecting free paychecks and spewing toxic positivity. Just play their game back to them. Enjoy the free paychecks while they last. Stop complaining, check out, and just enjoy the free paychecks. And do not feel guilty about it. In the meantime, start looking. Honestly, this is the best time you guys have.

You’re missing the point. The reason good people who can’t find jobs elsewhere are just collecting paychecks at this point is because of awful upper leadership.

The Board needs to start cleaning house starting with Kevin Conroy. MAYBE just maybe this company can be saved then.

I was hopeful the board would kick him out after I learned via years of observation that he's a checkers player and not a chess player, and his real talent is being the ultimate salesman and politian.

But then we had that "Board Fireside Chat" where we learned KC hand picked every one of them and they were all personal friends.

He's not going anywhere.

He is not going anywhere. He isn't even your biggest problem. It is the pea-brained CSO Jorge Garces, and the garbage he keeps hiring to lead Bioinformatics and software development. Wet lab leadership is ok. It is the sad creatures in computational biology and bioinformatics led by worthless Mazloom (who Jorge Garces hired). Mazloom got rid of all qualified people (with a background in oncology assay development). He removed them, pushed them out and hired his boyfriends from the defunct junk company en-masse. And his boyfriends have zero background in oncology assay development. That company only developed NIPT assays. Somehow Jorge Garces (who has scrambled eggs for brains) thought that Mazloom is the leader.

KC is out of touch. What is KC supposed to sell if R&D cannot deliver on newer products in a very competitive space?

The company needs to be shut down and pawned off, the Invitae way.

Always so curious who the hell you are. No one at exact gives a shit about Jorge. He’s a non entity. Nobody. Clearly he did you wrong but at exact nobody gives a single shit. We don’t even know what he does.

Everyone in this company including KC is a nobody, which is the f'ing problem. Marketing, sales, RnD, Clin lab, HR, all run by people with shit for brains. Which would be fine if we actually had a product people wanted, but alas, we still have shit in a box.
