Bridge to Success

I agree.. the new comp plan is good and a much needed change. The merchandise game is getting embarrassing out there, plagued with no-talent rookie reps & online clowns bastardizing our industry. Competing against single digit margins just isn’t good for anyone. You’d think it’s good for the customer, but not when all the good reps bail out of dental. Let me know how it works out for you when you when you rely on your Safco tele-clown to bail you out of a mess.

What planet are you on?

The same planet as you, but just know that we needed to change to fit the current market. Too many people living off of work they did 20 yeas ago. Especially, reps that have decades to work know this is the right move. Sure, change is scarier but plateauing is terrifying.

Mr Bergman is right! We are going to shrink everything to greatness - less centers, less salespeople, less specialists, less techs, less income for all salespeople, less customer support. By doing less with less we will be more successful.

This should be required reading for all reps.

Schein is all about The Street. (No, not Main Street). They're all about showing the highest profit margins to deliver for their investors and attract new ones, which is why they're downsizing. Also why they're scooping up all these small tech companies. High profit margins, and they can boss around the little companies to get the margins even higher. When's the last time Stanley Bergman talked about reps on a quarterly earnings call? Reps are simply not at the table in 2020...they are instead on the menu. Beware.

OK, so what’s your point? Because you just summarized all public companies.

My point is that anybody who believes the BS from these companies is a sucker. Even if you're tops, these scumbag medical device territories will fire you and split your territory into two or three if they can make a few extra bucks. It takes years, long days on the road, and time away from our family on nonsensical reports to build these territories and we are not rewarded or treated as we should be.

You are stereotyping the entire organization. There are plenty of long tenured and successful reps here, of which I have found good mentors. It sucks if you’ve had a bad experience but many have not.

So true, you build a territory and then they split it an expect you to bring in the same numbers pre-split after the split. I went 1099 and i am making more money and i am much happier yes i pay for my medical benefits but I have piece of mind and earning money for myself. I report to me!!!

I think if the government ever figures out a public option where regular people can buy into medicare, a lot of shitty occupations/companies are in for a rude awakening. More and more, I'm thinking that health benefits are a tool business uses to control workers.
