I got a phone call from a recruiter for a TM position with ConvaTec. It was the CCC division in the NorthEast (ME/NH/VT). I am currently employed... good move or bad?

Bad move, VERY bad

The TM who left was one of Convatec's best--with convatec about 6 years. Convatec is a horror show, more lay-offs soon. unless you are homeless, pass this train wreck by.
 


I liked the job and RSM. I want to break into medical sales and this seems like a great spot to start even though there are some negatives. You see its only upside for me man. I have been Verizons top salesman at the mall kiosk for like 3 years now and I just dont make that much money. I am good with selling plans to doctors when they come back. So they thought on the interview this would make a good fit with my doctor sales experience at the Verizon Kiosk. I am ready for it man. I can do it.
 


Dude, I got you beat. I was selling newspapers on the corner by a red light, and some of the people that bought them were, like, medical people and stuff. SO this guy stops and buys a paper and says he can get me into medical sales because i'm, like, so good selling papers to these people and stuff. So I bought a suit at WalMart and went and talked to the people at Convatec, and they liked me so much they made me, like, a manager and stuff. And I'm SO good at, like, selling stuff and such that I now get to tell all these old people how to do it and stuff. And the great thing is, like, I get to fire them if they don't listen to me and stuff. It's, like, soooo cool and stuff.
 


the wound care group has recently hired a couple of former mall kiosk reps. I think your assessment is correct. You will do just fine, and upgrade your salary. Cars a nice perk I bet you did not have as a mall kiosk rep. best of luck! We need more motivated people like you.
 


I prefer the newspaper guy. He can switch selling style faster depending on which medical specialty the individual is so he is a lot more adaptable and stuff. Cause dude, I mean for reals that is hard to sell the papers. I remember this one time at band camp, I blew, oh nevermind that was how I got this job you know what I mean? I think we should look for used car salesmen myself. LOL
 


MD came from Toyota, so used car sales people are not a sure thing. Kiosk and Newspaper are a safe bet. Not to mention to 2 kiosk reps are workin out well in the wound care group. I still cant believe this once great company with first class sales rep, is now lower than Medline in terms of the hiring chain. Whats worse than being a ConvaTec rep. Seriously think about it.

What's worse?? Being Colonel Khaddafy maybe...but he may still have better job security than a ConvaTec TM.

speaking of The Colonel, the dunderheads in thc C Suite in Skillman probably would like this guy on the payroll. Who better than Gaddafi, Khaddafi, or however you spell his name, than to take over as an RSM or DOS. The Colonel has all the traits DJ, BB, and MD crave in their Field Sales "Leaders": cruelty, insane devotion to a cause (however hopeless), despised by underlings (I hated mine worse than kidney stones), merciless, and barbaric. Describes you current or former RSM, right? Please Skillman, maybe The Colonel can fill the shoes of the hated and departed Ronald and turn your crippled dying company around. Good idea, wouldn't you say?

Speaking of Khaddafy, why not trade MD for him? They both have the same personality traits but one thing you can say about the Colonel: at least he sports a pair. We all know what a cowardly weasel we have in Mike D. The Colonel will tell you he'll put you out of your misery--MD lets you believe he is you buddy, then sticks you from behind.
 








You most be one of the RSMs. Congratulations. nowhere other than Convatec could you have even gotten a job as a phone rep in our industry without ANY credentials. Good luck trying to get another position in this industry WHEN Convatec throws you to the curb, which will be very soon.....I can't wait to see you guys all full of worry while the sweat drips off your ball...and I say ball because most of you don't have a pair.

Whether the con is hiring mall kiosk or newspaper reps, who cares! there is no future at the con so take a position at your own peril. More lay-offs are coming soon. I got out a while ago, joined another WC company and am doing quite well. I liked working for the old ConvaTec, which was a wonderful company when Gary Restani led us. Those who followed Gary were the dregs, fostering and promoting an evironment of deceit, hostility, and fear. Would a top US company have as its CEO the profoundly stupid DJ? Can you imagine a good company promoting one so awful as MD, or promoting a nitwit like BB to a position of real power? the coming of Nordic and Avista only worsened and further polluted the once great ConvaTec. Stay away from the new con if you know what's good for you.
