I have been an employee at Quintiles for almost 8 years. I have read a number of these posts and can relate to a few. But my experience has been a good one overall. The base pay is less than I could make at a big pharma company but it's competitive. And the bonuses have been decent as well. I'm fortunate to have been on good projects, and the travel is not too bad.
However I do see things beginning to change as we go public. I was promoted in 2010 and was awarded units as part of a retention bonus for assoc directors and up. I just found out that the company did not make the target so there will be no June bonus. Not a huge problem for me as I never got one and will still get the regular bonus but I think this is just the beginning of the changes coming down. The new CEO is on record for wanting to shift as much work as he can to low cost countries. That may be good for investors but not so good for people in North America or the UK. I'm already counting on the bonus plan for next year being reduced or eliminated. I suppose change is inevitable and as one manager has said "attrition is not a bad thing" but I think some of these changes will result in the wrong type of attrition.
