Clinical Operations

Reason #1

Work environment can be toxic (depending on who your around / which team).

You have people in positions they shouldn't have and are protected by HR. (They just don't have the experience OR have bad work ethics.. you know.. hide and not work). This has a led to a "HR gestapo state". Instead of the function... (in this case operations) driving the business and calling the shots... You have HR acting like the gestapo. This has developed a "tattle tale" environment. Employees now run to the "tattle tale" hotline whenever its notice that they are not doing their work or goofing off... Or feel like their manager has caught on... they run to HR to make a bogus work environment complaint (this is disgusting). Now they are considered... "whistleblowers". Next HR makes everyone sign a confidentiality agreement and..... no retaliation against "whistleblowers" - so no performance plans - no corrective actions - basically nothing happens. An investigation is done... and guess what.... nothing happens... but now... everyone around the complainer fears HR. Moreover... the investigation HR does is ... in itself... disgusting! Since the complaint is a lie. People are accused of things they didn't do or didn't see. (Big waste of time). This pattern just continues. So, people get mad... hate work and plan their exit. (aka. leave).

The problem is HR - Yes I said it!! Let the truth be known!

Reason #2

Another reason is work life balance. This applies to half the group.
You’re working with Japan team members who basically have no clue. Remember they rotate in the company every few years (Japan work culture). They are in Japan... This means you have late night TC or video conferences. (OR very early). The meetings with Japan are useless. Remember in Japan they spend 12-14 hours a day in the office, so they literally must find things to do just to look busy. So... hey let’s have a lot of video conferences!! Plus, the folks in Japan are just clueless with Clinical Operations and development outside of Japan. So frustrating... just a GIANT waste of time. Sad part... You cant be honest about this to anyone (they might call the "tattle tale" hotline).
So.. useless late night calls with idiots.. where you just roll your eyes 100 times…. OR time with kids, family etc. You decide

Well said. Have you ever been to office in Japan? They sit in narrow table space with dividers on both side. Always try to look busy. They are so clueless about clinical operations.

As far as HR they are useless. So much for being fair
