ConvaTec-What sales strategy?

Laying off 35 people today. Laying off an entire NPWT division-And the strategy is to give the WSC Engenex? Those TM's who have Engenex will now take time away from their sales to focus on what an entire sale force they fired couldn't do. If you are "lucky" enough to be active and have Engenex-you can be punished for not making your sales goal, take time away from selling SCD that makes money, does not count towards Pres Club. Wow are they lucky. Add it all up and no increase in base salary yet we are taking an Engenex specialist role. Not that WSC was not busy enough.....What about CCC-they do not have a new product for a year? And Ostomy, if they convert 1 acct a year that is considered good-what are they doing? Hey can't they use some work.
Run....run....as fast as you can.......

So sad-good people are gone. Do they not realize all of the people who want to work, earn money and grow the business will leave because promises are broken. They give a $3k bump then take it a way, several months ago they said no sales people will be let go-35 today. The people that are left will be the ones who have hid under the managers or are too afraid to leave.

Sad day today. I really wanted to have a career with convatec. Instead, it set in that regardless of how well you perform, how many times you have been on stage, how many years you have been with the company-they have no real respect for the sales team. Run I will-but the company is forcing this.....you will be loosing someone who initially believed in what you were doing.

All the RSM's and Corporate are cheering for the new comp plan-Are you kidding me? We do not get merit/cost of living increase and they think we will be happy about having to sell to get the increase we where promised in our P2. Wow how generous-not. Convatec has got to be the worst company I have ever worked for. As others have said......run run run run

Not providing a merit raise is a REALLY bad decision. We do more than sell. We in-service and fight off the competition. Just wanted to let you know, we do not sell copiers or cars or refrigerators. Do you even know what we do? Somehow I think not.

Welcome to the insanity of NP, a far cry from "selling" Duoderm.

On August 1, 2008 a monstrous entity was created in skillman: the NEW Convatec. The parasitical masters in charge of the NEW Convatec, Nordic/Avista (through their toadies in nominal control at 100 HDQ Park Dr), only care about driving profits while arrogantly ruining careers along the way. Venture capitalists suck their victims dry, anticipating the day when they can unload their purchase at a profit. Fortunately, the vultures who purchased Convatec were suckered by BMS into expending excess dollars for a company already on the decline (I love my lavish quarterly divvy checks from BMS especially knowing that the Nordic/Avista Parasites helped to make BMS more healthy after August 1, 2008 than they were before August 1, 2008.

For those of you who have survived yet another round of terminations, wake up and realize that more terminations are a-coming. So many of us have left convatec (I got out last year--what a joy to be crazy RSM, ORION, and Nordic/Avista free) or are plaanning to do so this year. By the time Nordic/Avista is through destroying Convatec, most of you will be gone, as Convatec will be ready to be carved up and sold off to new masters (3M? Hollister or Coloplast maybe?). Kudos to the many fabulous TMs that recently fled this debacle and may many, many more follow. Especially gratifying is that many of us now work for other advanced wound care companies where we thrill to converting VXC and A/Ag business to our brands. The Skillman Abortion is indeed doomed--do you really think that DJ, BB, MD, and the other dunderheads ruling Convatec have even a faint clue? Believe in them at your own terrible peril.

Unfortunately this is accurate. A bit dramatic but accurate

I agree, the post you commented on was a little over the top. But accurate. I don't dislike Nordic because I realize venture capitalists have an agenda that is not healthy for any of us still remaining at Convatec. What they do is in their DNA and I get that. Before the next round of lay-offs (soon I'm told) begin, I hope to be gone. There are better companies out there that value their people and pay much better. Convatec is no longer such a company so it is time to leave before my turn for departure unwillingly comes.

What sales strategy indeed...there isn't one. just consider:

A one time revolutionary technology, Hydrofiber, is now nearly 15 years old and continually losing market share to more innovative and exciting products from visionary companies in this industry.

Versiva XC, a marketing debacle at best, never gained traction as this failed dressing could not scratch the foam market owned by Molnlycke, S&N, and Coloplast. Those who devote excessive amounts of time and energy selling VXC do so futilely. The product is a failure.

Convatec skin care was once the envy of the industry. Losing market share with this now mature product line will not be reversed despite the mind numbing exercise of slashing GPO prices.

Whatever happened to Amadeus? Will this boasted about product ever turn profits? Convatec's Amadeus is as dead as Mozart.

Negative Pressure? A joke. Have all the Engenex specialists been fired or reassigned? Did the doddering foolish CEO in Skillman really think he could divert more that a few dollars from the KCI coffers? A mega million dollar disaster shamelessly being paid for by the continual elimination of field and home office jobs. Doesn't anyone at Avista and Nordic care about this multi-million dollar catastrophe perpetrated by the Buffoon with the Sail Boat?

In the last year or 2, thousands of years of sales experience have vanished due to the willing and unwilling departure of scores of Convatec's smart, elite, experienced, tenured, and industry feared TM Sales FORCE. Just reflect on those Club diamond winners, President's Club Inductees, and steady quota busters who no longer pound the pavements (and the competition) for Convatec. Convatec is left with a mostly inexperienced and discontented cadre of TMs who now focus more on finding better jobs than on closing sales that won't even dent their absurd quotas.

Convatec sure has a unique sales strategy.

Yep, shut down, some reps reassigned, but most fired.

DJ's 20 million dollar DEBACLE. Why is this guy still the CEO???

Don't forget about the Unodmedical purchase, too. This line of urologicals is at best a third rate knock-off of Bard. Once you guys are forced to sell the Unomedical stuff in the US, good luck, as no one is going to want this garbage. Bard owns 90 per cent of this market. With every screw up more and more of you are let go, yet the clueless like DJ and his "leadersdhip" team remain snugly in place.
