CSS Rolls Into PC This Week

Yeah, and then when your PC docs come out, they're the same old crew who go anywhere there's free food and they write 8 scripts total per month! The programs are what's a joke, not the CSS reps (although every franchise has it's share of poor reps). Time for the pendulum to swing back, so we can make it more attractive for key physicians to come out after a long day of work for some valuable interaction with their peers and thought leaders. You sound like a check-the-box-show-activity kind of rep. I'm a little more into quality and making sure what I do is a good investment of time and money. Guess I must be the joke, huh?

The real issue is that after a long day of work, all the physician wants to do is go home to their family and relax! They are overworked and underpaid (at least in PC) and they would rather go home than have a free meal and listen to a lecture (even if its a thought leader). Programs are a complete waste of money and nobody wants to do them...the dr's and the reps!

You started off your post right on target, but fell down at the end. The reason Drs don't go to programs is that they don't see any value in doing so. We have no new, groundbreaking data or landmark trials to garner interest. We have to cede control of our programs to a third-party vendor, and have no personal relationships with our speakers. I agree there are good and bad CSS reps just like every other sales force, but even with a great CSS counterpart, it doesn't compare to actually KNOWING your speaker, their presentation style, and what motivates them as a thought leader.

I'm glad your a "quality" rep, but don't knock somebody else when it's the system that's the joke.

Yes, got a ton. Over $6,000! I know it is less than primary care, but it is more than I want to have/spend
