or medicare or medicaid!
not to many patients can afford to pay cash for sensors
when meters & test strips our covered!
abbott labs is suing over a patient dispute!

I would agree, $350.00 a month out of pocket is a lot of money considering you can't even dose off of the sensor numbers. I heard rep quotas were in the 70 patients per month range...sounds to me like you'd make more money with a paper route

After the stock gets hammered with no earnings
to th 3-5 dollar range look for one of the big three
to buy them! Short the stock now and buy it back
cheap later is the play!

It's already gradually dropping. Not sure if someone will buy them because Abbott has a lawsuit against them.

It is an excellent product - I have worn it - the company will sell and most of the type of companies that will buy them will keep the folks there. It is hard for some of the people that just criticize on here (Medtronic bunch in general) to imagine that anyone could have an idea besides them but I would compare them to Animas - except they will be bought sooner in the cycle - whoever you people are, hang in there.

Medtronic has a continuous glucose monitoring system and it is integrated into the insulin pump so you only have to wear ONE device- the fully integrated insulin pump. It has changed my life with alarms that alert you when you are high or low and a real time graph that shows your trends 24 hours per day. I just love it!!!!!!!!!!!!1

What study were you in cause the sensor portion isn't out yet?

Dexcom has a great sensor and the small size is very attactive to a lot of people. Any new technology starts off a little slowly- people were reluctant to use bg meters in favor of ketone strips but the bg meter market has grown enormously over time.

Anybody familiar with Dexcom? They make gluscose monitoring devices. Got a call from a recruiter, sounds like a good opportunity.

As was previously mentioned, they currently do not have insurance coverage for the product. I believe they are looking to change that with managed care sales people & ultimately contracts. Without third party reimbursement, they are dead.

Another point to consider - stock options. Supposidly, J&J has an interest - the time for J&J to develop something like this would be significant and buying it gives them an existing platform to use with their Lifescan blood glucose monitors (J&J also bought the pump company Animas). Furthermore, J&J has a brusied ego from losing the battle to acquire Guidant to Boston Scientific and as such, J&J wants to "roar" again in the acqusition world and conquer (buy) another company so the market does not think they have lost their touch to do deals.

Dexcom has good technology and mgt, but without insurance reimbursement, they do not have a prayer. Also - their recent financing will likely need to carry them to the promise land as getting more money in 6 mos or so without having managed care contracts will be very difficult.

I cant wait for the earnings report next Qtr,
I'm Guessing maybe $500,000 for the whole company!
The stock will go to a buck, then JNJ will buy them at a
HUGE discount and get the product covered and sales will
soar!!!!!
