Dificid Re-Launch

What's the re-launch strategy for Dificid? Just curious as an ex-optimer rep. Just hope to get one serious response to this.

The relaunch plan is to sell a boatload more of Dificid then you Optimer bozos did!

Uhhhhh I thought it was a 50/50 co-promote with the almighty Cubist? I guess if it went well you would take all the credit but since it didn't you are placing all the blame. I love it! Plus all the cash I got from the deal. Thanks so much.

I find this quote to be extremely ironic. As a former Optimer Hospital Account Manager we are all very well aware of the "monumental effort" displayed to augment the sales strategy deployed by us. Cubist claimed to have the "ID relationship" solidified... Hmmm.. Perplexing that we had to quickly shift gears in order to account for the lack of volume supposedly that should have been generated by your primary customers? The reality is, your organization had already alienated its base by offering Cubicin, an overly inflated priced mrsa med where equally (and far less expensive) effective options are available at the physician's disposal. Wait... could it be that you were all held to the highest level of accountability by fearless and ABSENTEE managers such as DJ and others?? I give certain geographical shit-shows slightly more time before (those who have done nothing and coasted by) you are held accountable. . Good luck selling a "boatload" more Dificid... Unless you plan on drastically reducing the cost, it isn't going to happen.. Be careful what you wish for, douchebag....

Too funny! The two Cubist reps that I dealt with both said very openly that they were not going to promote it to their ID's because...."I do not want to jeopardize my Cubicin business". You are in for a world of hurt because instead of just maintaining an established drug you will now have to leave your comfort zone and take your lumps. Yes, better lower the price because getting screamed (and I mean screamed) at every day is no fun. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

I do wish you luck though because I want to max out on my CVR's at the end of 2015. Go get em' you awesome sales people!

One of the best posts I've read on CP in a long time. Clear, concise and to the point.

I can still hear the voice of the Cubist leader on the Cubist/Optimer conference call saying how they can handle the promotion of Dificid on their own...no help from Optimer needed. Well, it's now time to walk the walk. Are you squirming in your seats yet, Cubist? If you aren't you just don't understand the situation.

Well they have managed to drive the CVR to under $1.00. Way to go! I see those ID's are putty in your hands. What a joke.

Oops, wait a second....that's .69 cents now. We will always know how well you are doing based on the value of the CVR. It started at $2.30 so long way to go just to break even. Get those ID's moving since you have such awesome relationships.

The fact that no one has replied to the original questions says it all. Apparently there is no re-launch strategy in place. Did you lower the price? Figure out how to get a patient transferred from the hospital to the nursing home? Have an answer when the hospital pharmacist yells at you because they wasted money on 4 days of Dificid and the nursing home would only accept the patient if switched to vanc slurry? Come up with a response when the hospital says they have a 50% NAP-1 rate, they don't test for it, and Dificid is no better than vanc for NAP-1? You finally get some docs to try Dificid but it turns into a complete disaster for them and they say they will NEVER use it again until you get the problems worked out? Want me to keep going? Have fun!

Still no replies. If there was a re-launch then someone would say so. Best deal I ever had was being bought of that hell hole that was Optimer. Thanks Cubist and good luck.

The nursing homes are the worst! I don't think they buy real drugs. They just give everyone ground-up Tic Tacs and pretend it's medication.
