Ding Dong thread is gone

Well for starters her items went missing during the move - other than that, we have the occasional super-wide girth that eclipses the front door.

Party every day.. People have ordered cakes and celebrated. Everyone is smiling ear to ear. Those that were nasty are running scared shitless wondering what their future will hold.

you know I am sure this cause immediate bashing but I dont think she really had bad ideas at all. No I am not leadership nor do I want to be or can I ever be but what was she trying to do that was so wrong? Dont know how she treated people and a lot, make that most, of ITS big shots are assh&^%, (you know who you are) but the basic 1 IT concept makes sense. We will now go back to the 1980 Finance model of IT is a cost center of limited worth and not a true business partner.Well, bash away, I dont care I am old, have $$ and can say F it at any time. Just a different board response for a change....

There is a right way to treat people and a wrong way , depending on the end game both ways can achieve the same results. She definitely choose the wrong way to treat people. If you are an old timer, as I am also, you can probably think of some great leaders across the organization. Those leaders would have had the same strategy and been done with this years ago because people would wanted to be successful for themselves and him/her. Under her way (fear and threats) people could care less if she succeeded and she could care less how others felt.

I'm actually an ex JnJ-iT manager and I've implemented her idea of One IT at my new company. Hopefully, I've done it in a better way and I think my new team wants to support me and our new objectives. I've made a lot of changes in my new IT organization and the changes have been well received. Fear only works for the short-term, it is not a long-term strategy. And integrity goes a long, long way.

Well done, and well said!
