DMs and REPS

DMs don't/won't know now GO AWAY! U already left this on another thread. WE COULD CARE LESS WHO YOUR DM IS DOING! It's probably U!

DMs were notifiers last round and will be again this week; remember 2010?

but this time it is all NQ, all Solvay, and plenty from NS and Immunology

and no I am not doing my DM; she does get around however

You make it sound like PC is safe. I DON'T believe this either! I also believe many DM's are on the block as well. Too many reps.; too many managers! Any enlightening thoughts on these comments?

yes I also heard CSS disbanded and "All-In" with PC under same management

many DMs will be re-assigned to account management jobs so very few will be actually let go

cuts will hit Immunology very hard with only one unified group remaining

PC will be two reps per territory with management span of control of 10

NQ gone

Solvay gone

So what about Neuro? Disbanded and let go or some rolled into PC?

CSS is not going away, but it will not be under a unified CSS mgmt. Control will revert, again, to a geographic base. One Chain of Command to streamline contol and messaging. Look, did not even mention sales!

I see 2 DSS reps/territory with a DM having 5 pods, maybe 6. 1 CSS rep to cover all this hot mess. One RM per 8 DMs. We all know that there is shit access - so why have more reps doing less work. Fewer reps = busy hands.

Neuro, Solvay, CSS, DSS and DMs will all be competing for these gigs or, tomorrow or tuesday we all find out who get the ring.

CSS will probably be disbanded. Kos had reps calling on Cards, Endos, Im's and PC. Much more cost effective and efficient. And don't throw out any BS about the special training of CSS reps. It absolutely can be done with one sales force.

Does anyone have any information on whether the actual territories are changing? There was previous mention of them completely remapping all the geographies and making them bigger but nobody has made reference to that now.

Two reps per territory, including CSS integration. That also means fewer DM's. About 30% cuts up through the entire ranks. Just as D D has said.

That's a really silly question. Do the math........fewer reps., more geo to cover. My guess is they at least go back to pre-Kos geographies.

You MUST be new to pharma cause a pretty STUPID question, actually!

You are really an idiot! Territories have never changed before and its a fair question considering they could give us all products and keep the territories the same. Also, if zips change, that changes the profitability to the territory/home zip code to center of territory so it does make a big difference asshole!

Territories DID change for the beginning of 2008 in the St Louis geography, with one of the larger territories just south of the metro area split in half. Territories in SW Missouri were also affected, losing their outlying zip codes to other territories. With the combination of a lousy economy, the state of our PC pipeline, the "All In" concept and the emphasis on profitability, I believe the time is ripe for AP to radically alter the way the Company conducts business. For almost a year now, we've heard how physicians have become less important in prescribing decisions. Thinking pharma companies are going to remain unaffected by what's happening to health care in the US is a pipe dream. Even if the pending changes are not profound. they will lay the foundation for more radical change in the not-too-distant future.

Those territory changes were not part of a layoff as I don't remember a layoff in early 2008 since we were busy making 2008 great. They must have been specific to that area and needed to be done. I was talking about territory/zip changes after a layoff. There have been zip code switches done here and there per RM approval but that's about it. I agree that things are definitely going to change. I am wondering how much the geographies are going to change and how that will impact who gets laid off. If the business center of the territory changes or volume changes due to zip code changes, or there are 3 fewer territories in a district due to expansion, that will clearly have a big impact on how many are kept.
