Don Patton

S--T seems to just rise to the top in management at Abbott. In the future, maybe bringing some new blood from another industry w/ a solid track record could be interesting. How about from high tech?! At least then we could have some creative thinkers on the team that are not afraid to think outside the box (capsule/tablet).

agreed... they can keep making changes...but until they change the management... this job will always suck...and the employees will remain unmoviated...and micromanaged...

Nobody is working out there.....everyone knows there are layoffs, etc, just announce it, cancel the fucking Vegas trip, really does anyone really want to go, I don't, so it is one more plus of getting canned no bs meeting to attend .....

If we don't go how will we ever be able to properly detail? There is groundbreaking evidence hey are planning to teach us. Did you know trilipix has an FDA indication to be used with a statin, and Niaspan is the ONLY agent on the market with the idication to regress plaque?? I mean how would we properly learn this unless we spend 6 million dollars on a meeting in las Vegas to role play???...it's genius!!!

Don is just a puppet much like the President. He may talk like he has power...he may even have fooled himself into thinking he can make change....but the truth is he is a impotent as the rest of our management team.

How about this for an idea.... it's been done before by other companies. Since there are so many of use out here that apparently are not needed as much as before, why not open it up and see who volunteers for a separation package first? Then, if not enough step forward, move on with the "re-org". Because no matter how you slice it, without that first step, we are going to end up with a lot of reps and managers that really don't want to be here in the first place, and at the same time, we are going to lose a lot of good people that should really stay on board.

Re: Don Patton/Evil Big Pharma Going To Vegas

With the way our government, the media and the public has demonized the pharma industry over the years I am sure those that love to trash the industry will think it is very special that big evil Abbott, that charges me $50 a month for a drug that is more than likely extending my life is having a big shin dig in of all places Vegas. Good call Don we must be paying back Nevada Senator Harry Reid for ripping our industry off with the 50% discount on donut hole pricing. I heard Obama, Cathy Sebilias, the HHS secretary, and the Chicago gangster Rahim Emmanuel, called most all the big pharma ceo's and threatened to put a $500,000 a year cap on their salaries like they did with the insurance industry ceo's if they did not play ball with the 50% discount on drug prices once a medicare D patient hits the donut hole. People, that is why the layoffs are coming a 50% discount on pricing among for most drugs our largest customer base, those over 65. Obamacare needs to be repealed but we here nothing as far as leadership and courage from Miles White or Big Don. The ceo's and our trade organization Pharma has sold us out to the socialists.

Ditch all your pleated pants as well! This goes for every guy!!!!

Nothing can be as bad as the postcard we got in the mail with "red" and the other three idiots standing there looking ridiculous in their pleated pants and v-neck sweaters! This takes the cake as far as I'm concerned with what's wrong with this division. Seriously, why would they possibly send these to the sales force given the impending layoff? How much cost was associated with this foolish initiative? Come on Don, where is the accountability?
