Eagles on Netflx

For any Eagles fans (the band not the bird) I highly recommend the new documentary on the Eagles currently available on Netflix. I always liked some of their songs, never took the band too seriously and appreciated their individual talents more than the group effort. This show ties it all together in a way that is pretty much impossible not to like. Warning - it's 4 hours long so you'll probably have to watch it in segments.

Gotta admit Vag, that I was never an Eagles Fan. I always thought that Don Henley was a first-class asshole, and that Hotel California, was the most overrated song (and Album) of all time. That's just me. Bet that they are the Airman's favorite band, so I am sure that he will watch this.

They were ALL 1st class assholes - largely due to the fact they were always so coked up.

With that said, musically they were talented people before they became the Eagles (Linda Ronstadt, etc) . Later on after the Eagles, when the coke wasn't sitting around in jars all over the dressing room, they became more tolerable humans. As individuals, they were significant contributors to sound tracks - as in Miami Vice, etc. And as a well known harmonica playing friend of mine says. Desperado was a pretty damned good song - arguably due to LR's version but isn't that how it always works?

Anyway, if you have Netflix, give it 15 minutes. If it doesn't grab ya, bail. I didn't think I'd like it either but you know who talked me into it and we be watchin' another hour tonight - much to my surprise.

I will do that this weekend. Yes Desparado was good, so was Glenn Frey's "Smugglers Blues" from Miami Vice. I have always loved Joe Walsh. You should check out "Ghost Blues" a documentary about the great Rory Gallagher. There are a lot of people that he inspired, whom you never would have guessed.

Some of their songs were good. You R right about Hotel Cali. I will not watch this. I will spend those four hours elsewhere.

I will be sure to check it out. As time goes on, I have appreciated more of their music and some songs can bring back some very nice memories. Kind of like Arrow Wood.
