Expected Salary Range?

I’ve been contacted by a hiring manager or Regional Director as they are called here. I’m curious what the base range is for this role? Anyone willing to share? I know the comments by all aren’t encouraging on this site. We all have reasons for looking at other opportunities. Company car or car allowance? Obviously I’m asking drs about products, very few have written a script and even know their rep. Territory size is doable. Just hoping for some honest answers about the financial pile of all. Anything a rep will share about this aspect of the role would be appreciated. Company shutdown at Christmas, personal days, etc.

Honestly and this is right from the heart HARD PASS! It's not worth it. I understand if your desperate but desperate reps have gravitated to Esperion since the launch. There's not one good reason to be employed here. Yes to company car. Salary they've cut back on. They made the mistake of paying 120-140k at launch and that bunch did nothing . Salary lower now. Culture is horrific and management has no idea on what their doing. Keep looking. You'll regret the moment you start here. They sales team has had complete turnover at least 3 times and territories have been cut and realigned more times than I can remember. Good luck to you .

But...But

The Highly Acclaimed Scientific Hiring Process of Highly Tenured Customer Facings Reps...hasn't worked ?

Aren't they now Lipid Trained Experts ?

Turnover 3x ?

Wow.

Honestly trying to help you here and not just troll. This will be the worst career decision you have ever made. Miserable experience. Micromanaged and metrics the worst I’ve ever seen. You’ll be given 6 months to perform before pips, regardless of you are third rep in that territory. My original team is down 6 reps and the manager. The product does not move and many reps that were on top last year did so by illegal measures of completing PAs marking patients ASCVD while most are not. Managers (new one for us) encouraged this on one of calls with us saying the team had a circle of trust. You are better off waiting for something else, I promise.

But to answer your question, $120-140k base but has gone down for new reps, okay benefits, one week shutdown. 3 weeks pto. Terrible bonus that changes all the time. Equinox.

Half of the reps today will be gone in 6 months for being fired or moving on.

And this assumes the company does not crumble before hand whether it be legal trouble from managers and reps trying to keep a pulse or financial ruin.

I’d say definitely looking at options . The obvious would be ISS, PC and FRM if incliserine doesn’t launch. If it launches it better do well or then it is over !

So in a nutshell you'll be pressured to do PA's illegally and falsify the diagnosis in order to get a script for a drug with 17% reduction. Your boss will be a buffoon and the metrix and micromanaging will be crushing. So you'll experience what a great company Esperion is to work for.

I was let go after MANY years of success in the industry.
The interviewing manager at the company I landed at was evidently aware of what went on at Esperion. When I tried to explain why I was let go after 6 months, he said "don't worry about that, we all know what's happening there. Let's talk about the other 20 years of your career".
If you were someone who drank the kool aid at the beginning, you weren't the only one. If you jump into the acid bath now, you deserve what you get.

I was there around 9 months. Had no problem securing another position in the industry with my track record. My present employer knew all the nonsense that went on at Esperion and my new boss says everyone makes a wrong decision at some point in their career and totally understood. I vividly remember though the arrogance of management at the start and knew of people who were totally taken advantage of in the initial interviews.

It’s not a bad gig, pay should come in around 120. I’ve had some success but many of the initial hires got frustrated with the slow start based on the pandemic. Things are definitely starting to open up now and as more people have labs drawn there is a lot of opportunity for add on therapy.

Okay…

Says the turnover, layoffs, script volume.

RUN.

The reps “on top” last year (which I say lightly because they had maybe 200 NRx) excelled unethically and many cases, illegally pulling through scripts. If just 2 or 3 of us came together we’d have a whistleblower slam dunk on Esperion with everything we can prove.

Management is arrogant in openly stating how they “won” illegally.

I recently ran into the peach of a replacement that took the place of several of the initial reps who were fired. What a b!tch. If her state of mind is a reflection of the culture..stay away

This is the new breed of Esperion representatives, People who are hired to sell and who will make an impact in driving prescription numbers versus “ fostering relationships’. The momentum that is being generated is simply correlated with a launch mentality, and there will be some rather dramatic turns in the business before the end of this year. COVID is in the rearview mirror, patients are returning to offices, labs are being drawn, and decisions are being made to place patients on an additional agent that represents best in class therapy to reach ldl goals. It’s a bright future!

I can help.

What is your contact information ?

I am at a new job now after getting told I wasn't very good even though I had been successful many years before being sold on this quicksand.
Huh. My access is good again.
Bottom line, your access is never as good as you think you are when you have a good product and never as bad as fat managers with "metabolism problems" / drinking problems tell you they are.
Docs don't need to be told the same weak info every week before you piss them off.
Grab a life vest dummies.

This thread cracks me up. Esperion is such a dumpster fire that the entire Csuite has turned over. Almost every director turned over. More than half the field force. Managers and East/west Coast Directors encouraging off label promotion. “You don’t have to tell the dr that Patient needs to have ASCVD”, just tell them that “for the patients where their goal is below 70, to just add on”, the dr will understand what you mean. NO people, that’s not the label!! Managers asking you to deliver breakfasts on Saturday mornings (no respect for personal boundaries)! Illegal and unethical application of co-pay cards. And oh so much more. I am trying so hard to get out of here.

People told during the height of Covid to be out in the field. 11% of field force out due to covid, or Covid protection protocol last November. Higher in December. While that’s not effecting us now, it goes to show how crappy the corporate culture is—-all about capturing another rx, not about patients or employees. So sad. Guess these people have not figured out how much money they lose based on turnover. Managers who should not be managers are kept in place as long as their numbers are not in the bottom 2-3.
