Expiring Stock Options - A Warning

Believe it or not, some of your stock options might be worth something now, but be warned: Merrill Lynch does not automatically exercise them on expiration date.

Translation: Use them or lose them.

So if you recently left or are leaving Pfizer soon, you only have 90 days to exercise or you risk losing thousand in free cash.

EXERCISE YOUR OPTIONS!

Let's see:

The last time they offered general stock options to employees was about the year 2000.
That was just before the stock peaked. It would have cost me big money to exercise those options (i.e. they are worthless, the strike greatly exceeding spot price).

Therefore, you must be some whiny manager who received options after that .. (Since all us non-Senior Directors options expired last year )

....and other options become executable two years after the Wyeth acquisition - hmmmmm, will ex-Wyeth leaders stick around once their significant options ripen?

Well, assuming their options will be worth something significant, then i would think not.
Who would stick around ?

The previous douche bags in IT took golden handshakes for selling out their colleagues [like in legacy Pfizer Common Engineering]. They were the start of our current Pfizer cultural ethics, that which infects the soul like the black death. I know People who took the golden parachute for selling out their fellow colleagues , they sound like lady MacBeth, they walk around saying "Out Out Damm Spot." and pretend to be the working man's friend...

So, why should Legacy Wyeth be invulnerable to that?

truly your response demonstrates a superior intellect, supreme command of language and a wit rarely seen outside of necropsied lab rats.

I take my statements back, you should be made CEO.
Just don't screw it up with your moral compass,
oh wait, you don't have one, nor an ethical one.
