telematics
Yes but whom is the vender that sold “telematics“ to your fleet director? Telematics is simply a broad generic term for trekking anything from a train engine to a jet aircraft to a truck telematics are in all of those, but the question is which company is servicing your Telematic program.

is it being sold to help your driving safety? That’s the usual approach Fleet department would take of course that’s all bullshit because you’re a sales organization and sales is worried about productivity.

This is a lot more to it than plugging some device into your OBD to port.

OF COURSE it was being sold as “driver safety” and to help “improve insurance costs”. It’s actually hilarious that a single person would believe the manager lies of “you’re not being tracked”. Until they look at those whose numbers are in the bottom third and “hey, I have an idea, let’s see where Joe has been every day”. Your location won’t be tracked. Until it is lol. Micromanagement at its finest.

Yes indeed and don’t forget the device never blinks and keeps a permanent record. The only chance you have of privacy is buying a used non-functioning microwave oven keeping on the back of your car or passenger seat and toss ALL your company devices inside of the microwave, not necessary to plug in the microwave in because a microwave is a faraday cage [a faraday “bag“ will leak signal] and that blocks all electrical, magnetic pulses or signals hundred percent of the time so you can selectively let them follow you that’s the little trick.
