Front page or not?

Who thinks Biotronik will make front page of NY Times this week? At least front page of the business section? Will it be another black eye upon the industry and this poor excuse for a company?
 




I just know what I heard, it could have something to do with the DOJ investigation, it is pretty vague. nothing that will be a surprise to anyone. We all know how they do business.
 








So "basically", physician training programs are acceptable even when HRS does not endorse any such programs outside of a fellowship program AND these training programs are "basically" acceptable even when the trainee has the skills of an elephant with a scalpel? The reality is that there are double standards..... Don't do as MDT does do as they say they do.

Don't blame Jake Tucker, errr Rexy for missing a chance to stop the damage. Don't be bitter. Industry standard is nothing close to what was exposed in Vegas. I call on 10 Ep's and not one of them have a consulting agreement with any of company. We do not do business like Vegas or Biotronik. Now, maybe Biotronik's standard is to use consulting agreements to get business, but don't assume everyone is doing it. I am sure that there are consultants for the big three, just not 90% of the implanting doctors. Oh yes, by the way fellows read the Times as well.

This is by no means the first PR nightmare/opportunity that has been handled by playing ostrich and I find it interesting that BIO keeps using this tactic.

As for industry standards and consulting agreements, all the big 3 use them. Maybe not as often, but they do use them.

Now Vegas, (snark), that is just another fantastic example of the gross excess that is quietly expected, but publicly denounced.

I seem to remember once Jake telling us not to get the company on the front page of the NYtimes. Maybe Mr. Fonte didn't have to attend that part of training.
