Future of Salix

Isn’t it interesting that there is more news about SAD, for depression, than there is for Salix, which is supposed to be the bread winner for BHC? One can argue it’s ironic, too LOl. Salix is SAD! They just got downgraded before earnings released, there are no new products, no new developments, no new ideas, but the same people making decisions. I’ve been interviewing and Salix is NOT a good look on the resume. The first question I get asked is how I feel about the company, followed up by the toxicity they heard about. If that says anything, it means that if you stay at salix for a long time, no manager will want to hire you due to fear of you bringing that toxic culture on their teams. I know 4 people on my team who have a few side hustles. With the latest press release and lack luster sales results, the company will be faced with the decision to lay off. If you’ve been with the company more than 4 years, be prepared to be investigated by HR, fired, all so they don’t have to pay severance. I’m sure there is an incentive for them to fire you rather than show any layoff percentages. Anyone applying for Madrigal or Phathom? I heard Phathom finally got their indication. They would be fools to hire some of the salix turds. Many good people still here who are riding it out, spending their time with their kids, or “working” 3 jobs. But, those of you who haven’t learned shit, networked outside of the company and only inside of the company, are in for a rude awakening. Whatever your reason for staying at salix, just make sure it’s not to “work your way up within the company”. thoughts?
 


In typical salix fashion, let’s disparage the employees who left this shit-hole of a company. Anyone who ever leaves salix goes through the typical rumor-mill, especially managers. For example, you’ll hear, “he/she was worthless…their team hated them….they never worked….they were on a plan anyway…good riddance…they did me a favor” hahaha. It’s soooo typical. Never, not once, did we ever hear “congratulations” or “thank you for all you’ve done for this team, we wish you the best of luck”. You know, like true leaders would do. But nope, instead everyone else is the problem. Hahahah. This is why no one is working here. You treat people like shit and expect that when you talk crap about others it only exemplifies the toxic culture of leadership here. It’s you, you’re the problem.( insert taylor swift song) LOL. Start applying for madrigal and Phathom, or leave GI! Let’s show Valeant, disguised as BHC, that they are the problem. You’ll make more elsewhere. At the very least, you’ll make the same but won’t have to deal with this crap. The second company I work for, besides salix, is amazing!!! Venture out and see for yourself. Don’t buy into the salix crapshoot. Your managers are applying elsewhere. I’m applying for madrigal too and already have been told that there are a bunch of salix managers in the final step! When this is all over, Sanofi will be looking to fill in their replacements too.

Nice "plant" post , do you think we are that stupid to not be able to read into what you are trying to do ? Also - not sure what press release you are speaking of , what until tomorrow. Debt reduction will likely be announced and the stock will turn North for good. Good luck with the Phathom Phamily ...

You are obviously misinformed - there is only one manager that went to Madrigal. PV from Ohio . Get your facts straight before you spout off .

Here’s my take: they increase the amount of touch points, dangle the “climbing the ranks” carrot spewing how great the company is doing, they’ll promote more reps without any experience to lead you touting their leadership development program, you’ll be faced with increased pressure to perform all for a 3,000 dollar antibiotic. Remember when dipshit Josh made people role play until 11pm at the national sales meeting? Still making 110k? Haha Syneos is laying that for Pcp positions. How is salix a top GI company with only 1 product? Ooooo, I known. Let’s continue increasing the price to show organic growth, let’s cut the cost of reps, make bonuses harder to achieve but only a handful of reps make 50k a year in bonus. It’s a company that is cutting costs, making it harder for you, micromanaging, tracking you, watching your receipts, and has no future.

100% true. People leave for better jobs and the RDs and managers ALWAYS talk shit about them. It’s never “hey, they found a better position” or “we appreciate their contributions and wish them well.” It’s always some story about how they couldn’t hack it at Salix or they were already on a plan and half way out the door. Liars. Mohan was the worst of them. Chased off great people and bragged about how their departure was some sort of gift. We all know better. He, along with all of senior leadership, would never make it anywhere else but Salix. They suck. Salix sucks. Most of us are working two days a week riding this plane into the ground.

Salix appears to be in the dead cat bounce phase of it's life-cycle. Let's see what has happened in last year:

Earnings (or less of a loss) are up. Stock has risen 25% before the Amneal lawsuit. The Norwich ruling is a wash since IB-D got remanded back to lower courts.
B&L spin-off is in jeopardy. If it does spin-off they will use the 4.5 billion they receive to give to shareholders instead of reducing their outstanding 21 billion in debt.
Do they have any new drugs in their pipeline?
Salix represents half of BH earning without B&L. I would expect layoffs and downsizing to start happening within the next 18 months.
What has Appio done or said that thinks there is any future.
Institutional investors are invested to get the B&L payout. The stock will shoot-up then there will be a massive sale on the BHC side.
Leadership has no direction. They do not know what they want or where to go. They should be aggressive buying smaller companies to diversify their portfolio, but they have done nothing except increase the boards' stipend, increase executive compensation.
They don't care about retaining talent.
