Head of Lab Joint Venture

Am I hearing this correctly - that Costa Panagos will be head of the Quintiles/Quest Lab joint venture? Nothing against him, a great guy, but a career Sales guy and now in charge of the distribution, collection, analysis and data dissemination of millions of vials of blood, etc?!?!
i hope he does well, putting him there comes as a surprise to me.

Good guy. always has been successful in his roles (including his role on Full House). why not give the fella a shot?

But the real bad news is that Mohammed Khan, currently Quest VP for the Great Lakes region, is tabbed to be the COO....doesn't have clue about Clinical Trials..

I heard that the JV COO was at Quest Valencia last week, and even before he took the time to understand the business, he had 3 Quest "Six Sigma" blackbelts trying to reshape the business...going to be very interesting times ahead for all....

He doesn't have a clue about clinical labs as well -- doesn't matter he's gone from the joint venture already

He was failing at the central lab before the JV; and he is failing even worse now. Hasn't got a clue of what is going on. He'll be gone in a year or so.
