this WAS a fantastic company, led by some great people in the sales dept that was the victim of a poor clinical leadership (read: the R&D guys had NO clue what they were doing which led to delay after delay with the FDA)...the company was initially "merged" with Alpharma who sold it to Medicis who raped & pillaged the company and sold it to the rather unknowing folks at BioMarin (BM actually paid + $150MM for what was essentially a branded product just turning generic; BM shouldnt have paid more than say $60MM)...BioMarin brought in one of the initial execs from Ascent to manage the integration and the unfortunate outcome was the realization that they had made a TERRIBLE mistake (BM fired the CEO shortly after the consultant came on board and "peeked under the sheets") and was forced to lay off the Ascent sales org.....a fantastic group of hard-working, dedicated professionals sharing a common philosphy - and I should know, I was the one responsible for building the sales organization!...best wishes to all of the Ascent folks!
 


Has anyone heard whatever happened to April Dorsey? Last I heard she was transferred out west somewhere. What about the people in the south who worked for Ascent? Anybody still in pharmaceuticals. What a great job that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 


I heard from her around the holidays. She moved back east and is REALLY happy to be back "home". Her people loved her and said she was great to work for. I wish I could have been part of that group.
I miss all of you Ascent folks. It was a great ride!!!
 


I miss this wonderful group every work day. We should all reach out and keep in touch as opportunities arise within our new organizations. It is a small world after all! Best of luck to all of you!!

Ascent Pediatrics ceased existence around 2002-203, bought by Medicis. This was the best company and group of people I've ever experienced. They hired proven, seasoned professionals who didn't need or want micromanagement. They paid us tremendously, and treated us even better. We launched Orapred, and everyone did very well. Everyone. They truly meant it when they said they were a family company, and wanted the best for your family.

May all my former teammates be blessed and prosperous.

Amen to you for the blessings. Some of us have struggled to find that work/life balance since the end of Ascent. Its because there will NEVER, EVER, be another company like Ascent Pediatrics. Truly the greatest organization I will ever work for because we were all treated like family. I miss all of you and wish all the best to the Ascent family!
