If buyout does occur

Wrong again all Open territories continue to be filled at the same pace as before. New hire classes are filling up and scheduled monthly as always. In fact, just in case someone sees a need to jump ship for personal reasons or gets terminated WC is advertising for overhires in the major metro areas. We continue to keep a full sales force because we continue to need them and we will need them in the future. Adios Debbie Downer.

Perhaps I am reading into this too much but it is interesting that the WHC porfolio (not sales force) will expand, but gastro and derm franchises AND sales infrastructure will be added...:(

You are. It said salesforces because they don't have any in that market. 15 WHC products, there is no way one sales force will cover that. We will be fine unless you are bottom feeder.

Wishful thinking there sport. These products are generics. Have you forgotten what company you are joining. No original R&D. Why do you think they needed to market Generess?

Bad News: Not 15 products
Good News: Pretty small sales force

In the U.S., Actavis Specialty Brands focuses on delivering innovative products that address disease states in Urology and Women’s Health.

Leading marketed products included RAPAFLO®, Gelnique®, Trelstar®, Androderm®, Crinone® and Generess® Fe. In 2012, Actavis Specialty Brands launched Gelnique 3%TM.

We also invested approximately $146 million in Specialty Brands R&D.

These products are promoted by a sales team of approximately 430 representatives focused on strengthening our coverage of urologists and obstetricians and gynecologists. Approximately 54 members of our sales team focus on institutions and clinics.

"wishful thinking" my ass. This is going to be a fabulous joining of two companies. The pipeline is impressive for every therapeutic area and they will need every boot on the ground that is worth their salt to handle all of this. I was thrilled to read the Actavis site information. I am on the WHC team and I FEEL GREAT! So suck on that.

Notice this presentation includes:

- Actonel
- Atelvia
- Doryyx
- Lo 24
- LoL0
- Asacol

As part of the great products of the combined company. Well ladies and gents, most of these products are absolute dogs, and all will be generic within two years (some are now). Every ting WILL NOT be alright:)

8 product launches in 15 months. There will be plenty to sell. Shut your hole.

Suuuuure! Are we counting blockbusters like Doryx 200? Sure there will be plenty too sell, not just enough to justify bolting on 800 WC territories. Remember this term "400 million annually, from operational efficiency". The translation is, we will eliminate positions that overlap; the resulting layoffs will save us 400 million per year.

Are you still suggesting that the "efficiency" will not impact the 800 or so WC "soccer balls". Come on be real Mr. "Dont Worry Be Happy" :)

Keep telling yourself that. Right now Actavis is strategically planning how
to legally start offering WC reps their severance packages. It's a slow
process that can take between 6 months to a year. I truly believe if your making
under 70k at WC your job is safe. There is no way a Generic Pharma company Actavis, is going
to pay Sales Reps over 100k when their own reps aren't making over 75k. My point is this if your making over 70k start looking.

This is clearly offered by someone that has no clue how things are done during acquisitions. Actavis will do whatever they please and could care less about SR salary thresholds. They have a target in mind regarding head count for SR's for each brand and they will create a process to meet that target. How much a rep makes is trivial. They will want to keep quality people in areas that need coverage....WC or their own. The home office is most likely the group initially targeted for reduction. That being said, some of them will transition. The best advice you can get is control what you can, keep your eyes open for better opportunities ( you should always be doing this regardless ), and make some cash in the mean time.

You are missing the fundamental difference. WC has bought the business. The WC reps will no longer be allowed to exist outside of PHRMA guidelines. Game over.

Please tell us more about how we can only "buy the business" and how all WC reps are pure scum and are only good for dinners and wine and etc...... It must be tough waking up everyday being so pissed off that you need to revist the WC cafepharma boards to complain. How many hours have you wasted here? Get a life "ms. WC reps can't exist outside of PHRMa".

What can we expect if the buyout does happen? Should I expect to be let go to make room for Watson reps? Is the buyout a good thing for WC Reps & increase our security?

One of the main concerns in bringing on the WC reps is compliance, ethics and how the current WC sales force will integrate into the Watson sales force. Their is definitely a difference in cultures and I am not sure Watson will want to take on too much liability from a compliance stand point when it comes to how our WC reps spend dollars in their promotional budgets and the things done outside the office and in the field with doctors in order to get business on board.

This is a huge risk that Watson will have to decide if they want to take on. That is my belief that more Watson reps jobs will be saved and WC jobs eliminated where there are duplicates.

Yea, you are probably right. I guess that is why we are hiring over hires in every major metropolitan area and the next women's health training class will have 30+ reps in it, because they definitely are gonna waste their time hiring, training and getting them started in territories just to fire them in 3 months. Makes perfect business sense. I'm sure Actavis signed off on it too...
