depends on what division. If it is a Neurology spot you need very little experience (for example a barista at starbucks, or a personal trainer). You will work in a pod but they won't call it a pod. they will change the rules, the targets, and the comp plan every few weeks and if you complain about it they will tell you this is what agility looks like because we have idiots running this divisionWhat is the interview process like at UCB?
Often you need to repeat this process with several people to obtain a positionThey ask questions and you need to answer them. At then end you can ask them questions too.![]()
Literally run from this company don’t waste your time interviewing. It’s a micromanaged nightmare and Is becoming more like primary care by the day. The management being hired is pushing talented reps to the door.. one on one weekly calls. Role plays. Multiple excel spreadsheets. Monitors virtual zoom calls with providers. If you like your hand held and being managed vs a team player and someone you work with then this is the place for you. Good luck in the interview process.
Sounds like we have some great managers. Nothing but yes men. This was one of the best places to work in the industry. Now it’s full of incompetent people who are just trying to level up or pad their retirement.Great accuracy.
Who is the manager? Because it wasn’t always like that. They have good reps here it’s just above the field they are severely lacking. There literally is a role-play as one of the steps in this process to get hired. Are we in middle school or what??

So you’re a sales rep afraid to do a demonstration of your ability to do the job? Yeah, I’m guessing you didn’t get a call backThere literally is a role-play as one of the steps in this process to get hired. Are we in middle school or what??
Spot on. Brings over all his boys and destroys the company culture.1 word: Porto. No faster route to disaster than that. Amazing to me that this ego maniac can still find companies dumb enough to hire him, he leaves every sales force he leads in shambles.
I am thinking it's the pressure of getting it right and delivering flawlessly. Some people do have the anxiety. It's fine. I hate doing these role plays at meetings. The people assigning them usually can't deliver well themselves and end up talking the "hcp" to death in the role play.So you’re a sales rep afraid to do a demonstration of your ability to do the job? I couldn’t have said it better, fact of the matter is many of these “role plays” aren’t realistic, if you can’t have an honest and authentic conversation during an interview to evaluate talent than you’re in the wrong position.
I cannot understand why we continue to do these role plays. Everything else in the world evolves but the world of role playing. If I were to walk into an account and say "doctor I want to talk to you about your RA patients" they would walk right back out. The training needs to adapt to real world. We can't take them on trips or even give them a pen. However, we still talk to them like we can. It makes no sense!
I am still bitter because I had a manager that would make me role play with her at 4:30 every Friday. This company still does role play as part of the interview process, is this pharma of the 1990s or what?
