At HRS a small company signed an agreement with St Jude and are promoting a new disposable holter monitor that looks like a big band-aid and is disposable. Anyone know anything about the company/product? There was a lot of customer interest at the St Jude booth when they were doing the product demo.

This is going to be really big.

Only to those who can't sell. I bet it does not have somnet or clinical indicators. Who cares if it is smaller and easier to use.

Smaller, easier to use, disposable, and a sales force of 500 highly trained ST.JUDE CRM animals with direct access to every cardiologist in the country. They know these docs.so well not only can they walk into their offices but most of them can walk into their homes. That is what is going to make this big.

The IRhythm monitor only works like a holter because there is no way to transmit data until it is sent back to the monitoring company. As far as i know there are not any approved 7 day holter codes. It can not be used as an event monitor because there is no way to transmit data. It needs to be sent back to the company to get the data off of it and by that time the patient could be dead.

Data can be transmitted over the phone.

IRhythm has an event monitor which is disposable and a holter, they have no "telemetry" device. Bill Willis is running the company, they some vc monies behind them and the St Jude connection will get some traction. However, most of the big three (MDT, SJ and BS) do not spend a great deal of time promoting holters and events. Biotronix may but they really have nothing else to do. I for one am more worried about the state of reimbursement and the upcoming decision on the SGRs. If/when that goes through and the reimbursement for telemetry doesn't increase it will not matter for anyone.

By the way, a lot of people thought that the Telzuit Stat Patch would be the next big thing.

Well Anna McNamara, you should know, as you got Bill Willis fired at CardioNet as well as several other IRhythum employees that worked with Lifewatch when you stormed into their company. To their face, you are so nice, but behind the scenes, you are setting others up. You are nothing more than a back stabbing B=tch' The I is gone because we all know you take care of I and are out for me, myself, and I! Your buddies are not your buddies outside this company. To your face they are nice, professional, but they know you for who you really are, and it isn't attractive. Look in the mirror, but hurry, it might break! Guess you forgot to tell Randy about all that came, went, and you sent while you were in Chicago and Conshohocken.

This is huge. I'm interviewing with this company tomorrow. We are mighty. Mighty small yet mighty powerful. Docs love the convenience and reimbursement will be 'addressed'. As for St Jude. they are powerful and ready to make us HUGE. I'd run from Cardionet now if you're smart. Check out myspace.com/IRHYTHM for my group.
